I own a new c class its great! but from driving both the 335i and the C class the 3 series is a much better drivers car imo no wonder it wins against in every review against the C. both are great cars and the new C class is way better than the last gen C class only downside is the ride is too harsh hit a pothole and you can feel it shattering your spine. I only went with the C cause it was working out cheaper and I couldnt get the 3 series I wanted on offer.
You mean the suspension is stiffer on the C class compared to 335i?? In that case, the car should in general handle better due to lesser body roll.

Yes. They're leaked.

I was hoping for bigger changes in the styling and in the interior. I hope they've at least tweaked things under the hood and gave it better materials inside.

Garage List
going by past LCIs

* slightly revised front bumper
* new headlight design (LED?)
* slightly rear bumper
* LED tail lamps
* 1-2 new paint/leather options (not material just color)
* relocating a button or two
* add a few bits of chrome internally
and if you are lucky some engine changes...

frankly this is smart--it keeps costs low for BMW and their certified-prewoned biz healthy, and there won't be a big dip in sales of current non-lci inventory.

for their customers, the depreciation for non-lci is manageable which keeps customers loyal.

WorldCarFans has even more leaked pics:

Touring:

M Sport:

More at the link above.

I think it's a bit disappointing. But I guess they kept this facelift small since the 1-Series got such extensive changes.

Well at least the pre-LCI 3-Series still looks great

Edit: The M3 get's the new LED taillights as well!

So confused by this live stream -- why is it jumping between German and English?

Because BMW is a German company and Germany is one of their largest markets.

My questions wasn't "why German" -- my question was why the switching back and forth?

In the beginning they told people to use headsets for different languages so I don't get why there aren't separate audio streams for German and English in the video

Is that a sliding cover for the cupholders? That would actually be a good upgrade.
Its not an upgrade. My e46 ha sliding covers. If anything, like every new bmw for the past 10y itsdowngraded. I can see the cheap plastic underneath the gear is still there. No match for merc. And i think the exterior looked better pre lci

No more cigar lighter power port by the cup holders? I don't use mine, but I can imagine people missing that.

No power tilt and telescoping driver's steering wheel? MAJOR omission, considering C-class, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50 and Audi A4 have it available as standard or an option.

After having it on the G37 on a lease takeover (which had it), I would say so. Also, considering how much of a premium BMW commands over the mentioned competitors, they SHOULD include it. It's not like they don't have the parts for it either!

No AC Sync button ("Dual" button). Missed opportunity, but it appears there's a wifi button?

If these early pics are true to form it should be low impact to resale for current cars, which is good.

From the chassis section of the press release:

Sporty, agile and comfortable suspension.

The BMW 3 Series has been the benchmark in driving dynamics for generations. The further developed damper technology and optimized suspension of the new
BMW 3 Series Sedan and new BMW 3 Series Sports Wagon team up with a more finely honed steering set-up to deliver significantly enhanced dynamic capabilities without any compromise on comfort. Some of the specific changes include: new geometry of the chassis with new front struts with five bolt upper anchors points (versus 3 previously), redesigned electric power steering, new rear damper technology, and updated Dynamic Stability Control. All these updates translate to increased handling capabilities as well as feedback to the driver.
The retuned suspension improves both transverse and longitudinal dynamics under all load conditions. This is expressed in reduced roll, improved directional stability and higher level of steering precision. This is true of the standard suspension as well as the M Sport Suspension and the Adaptive M Suspension options. The Adaptive M Suspension offers electronically controlled dampers and allows individual adjustment of the car'™s dynamic responses at the touch of a button. Continuous sensor monitoring of longitudinal and lateral acceleration, speed and steering angle allows the damping to be optimally matched to road characteristics and the driving situation.

Track Handling Package now available.

The Track Handling Package, designed for the driving enthusiasts and available on the gasoline engine models only, consists of Variable Sport Steering, Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Brakes with high temperature Euro brake pads mounted to blue calipers that highlight the new 3 Series sportiness while sharpening handling. The package includes 18" Light alloy wheels in Orbit Grey with Michelin Super Sport Tires, which emphasize maximum performance while providing excellent handling. Optional 19" wheels are also available on all 340i models.

Wonder if that Track Handling package will be across all the 3 series or just the 340?
