It's still present - but it's not like you'll feel it every shift. It's definitely mainly present when going WOT in sport or sport + and primarily the lower gears.

Mine came off for the annual service today. It is going right back on tomorrow. You can easily feel the difference. With it on, my car accelerates like an M3.

Precisely - the difference is very evident. I popped the bypass on one day to re-experience stock and the first thing I did when I got home was plug it back up. The difference between no tune vs. with tune is night and day. Also highly recommend pairing with a nice exhaust (see my post on my exhaust upgrades if anyone is interested in Dinan). The increased growl paired with the increased power from the tune gives the beautiful 340i a whole new personality.

Been enjoying the A8 on CA 91 gas for about 1700 miles now (installed when odo hit 2000). No issues whatsoever. Noticeable increase in power across the entire band but the real fun starts at 2.8-3K rpm As someone has already said, wishing I had better brakes when driving around town.
Haven't hit the fuel cap (throttling back in power during WOT, I think) but the DME does kick in as others have stated and is most prevalent during the 2-3 shift (I would estimate a 0.2-0.4 sec delay). This is on the 8AT. It can be mitigated by taking your foot off the gas between shifts (like when driving a manual). But I will say it is intrusive enough that this, or any other piggyback for that matter, may not be for people who care more about the buttery smooth shifts of the stock ZF8 over the increase in power. That power though...take stock performance and increase it by ~20%. I think I read somewhere here that someone got a response from AA that 91 octane should yield +70whp and+80wtq. Plan to get a dyno at some point but haven't yet. Will definitely post when it happens. As for how it plays with MPPSK, I believe people have said there is an additive effect and runs well. |

There definitely is an art to this A8 as I've learned some tricks while driving it that really knock your head back into your seat. |

Just an update, ended up having to return product due to transmission not shifting at red line. JB4 is up next and I hope to see an improvement

I currently am selling my JB4 because I shifted over to a flash tune, but if you plan on running a couple gallons of e85 it’s pretty damn smooth. The Bluetooth connect kit is also cool because you can monitor everything from your phone and change maps whenever you want. Only way to get past the throttle closures/fuel cap is to flash your car which isn’t something that everyone wants to do. Mission Performance is 30 min from me and I’ve always wanted an actual flash tune instead of piggyback.

On a separate note, I believe people running catted down have less throttle closures with JB4. All I had to adjust was FUA and it was buttery smooth. Just wanted something with more consistency

Has anyone tried it on top of MPPSK?
Would it bring much?

Interesting enough, I've experience the harsh cuts at hard shifts with the AA all through the summer. Last couple of days it was -5C (~26F), running winter fuel, and it's been spot on. Gear shifts are hard, but zero fuel/throttle closures.
Not sure if it's the lower IAT temps or the winter blend that is making the difference. It's possible the DME is pulling lower target boost levels due to colder IAT though. |

Would the fuel limit be eliminated by running 93 octane or by having a 6MT. I was considering getting the AA tune and from what I've heard is mostly good things. I'm in NY so I have 93 readily available everywhere pretty much

Occasionally I do hit the fuel cap under certain circumstances (high load/throttle, lower air temps, but pretty rare), but the infrequency of that for a daily driver wouldn't sway me from the AA. Get one, you will not be disappointed. |
