As of now the car is running perfectly! The previous issues were quickly resolved with replacement of the servomotor, and hpfp sensor replacement. The journey took about 4 months, including researching, sourcing and labor. Hope you get your Bimmer back to life! |

Hi xlugoz
Very happy to hear you managed a successful swap. This is a long shot - I am in a 2011 E82 135 with a dying/dead N55 that I would like to replace. I am trying to find out if 2012/2013 E82 135 N55 will fit in the car? See my post on 1Addicts here: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1905343 My shop says that it will not be a straight swap and the coding will be too much. Based on your experience, is the coding in these situations a challenge? Just trying to get a feel for the scale of this task? And if its even viable/possible? I would happily throw an F Series N55 in to the E82 135 if it was possible? This guy seemed to pull it off but was short on details: https://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43200 Thanks in advance. |

It's in your best interest to stick to the same E series N55 and PWG. You'll require a lot of electronic replacements. If power output is your concern, an E series N54 would almost work better. My swap did not require any coding at all it was a straight drop in and ran, no coding required, ZF8 '16 M235i to ZF8 '14 435i, F chassis, EWG. |

Quick question I recently blew my 2013 F30 n55 engine and was wondering if you know if I have to stick to a pneumatic wastegate, or can install an engine with an electronic wastegate thanks .

.. so you'd need a new harness the correct vacuum setup, dme etc etc and a ton of coding and stuff. Unless you can get a very cheap donor setup it's cheaper to get a new car lol

Another thing to look out for if you use the new engines fueling system is EU5 vs EU6 injectors. |

Hi,
did you tried to research possible M2 N55 fitment? I'm in similar position as you were, engine on my m135i (hatchback version of m235i) is blown and I'm trying to research if M2 N55 engine would be easy preplacement. It is EWG for EWG. As far as I searched, only differences are internals (pistons heads, bearings, oil) and oil pan. But it would be great to hear form someone else to confirm it. Thanks. |
