It's okay, I had to factory factory reset the unit and all the new options were available!

I had the same problem. I did a factory reset and the new changes took effect

Also, don't forget the factory.xml Kri posted, for the additional options in factory menu (dashboard, music player)

I somehow managed to get mine to MPH!

Played about with a lot of different settings, but I think changing the units from metric/imperial may have done it.

Also, changed the default maps app to Android Auto to save going into Apps>Manually selecting from my screen.

Added this line to factory_config.xml under SupportNaviAppList

my unit crashed yesterday evening and is stuck in the recovery, any ideas (see attachment)?

coldboot, battery removal does not help.

At this point an external USB Keyboard will work, had the same issue some time ago.
I connected one, selected "Factory data reset" then it was working again.

if keyboard doesn't work, and that is quite likely, rename px6.zip file to px6_format.zip, save to USB or SD, insert into slot, restart unit and wait ... If you don't have px6.zip for Android9, I can provide one

So, Kri - what are your last thoughts ? Is the 3.0.8 you posted final or beta ? Is a reset needed after install to reveal all the new features ?
And about the root - upgrading from 2.8.3 preserves the root or it needs to be rooted again ? I have rooted with your method + Magisk .

For what i saw at the source code it`s probably a beta, but i`m not the engineer of this software

A Reset may help as nitesite stated, at my hu it was working without, so if something is missing do a factory reset.

After every upgrade you need to root your device again, thats why i made the batch file, i got sick of doing the same procedure everytime again by hand

I can`t say something about Magisk, i`m not using it.

Ok. thanks for info - great job that batch file . I guess I am going to wait for final 3.0.8 .
Magisk, I have installed only like SU , after rooting with your method . Although RootChecker recognized root , apps that need root like AdAway, did not - or partition could not be remounted read-write. So I thought I need a kind of SU manager to grant root rights.
Can you point me to where to find factory_config file , either in unit's Android or my update ROM ? I have a vendor which is not giving much support, other than system updates - no MCU, no factory_config.

My reseller sent me as "final" for solving navigation audio switching issues (must open original apps or no voice). Obviously they didn't solve it. Every chinese software is a beta.

Despite that, 3.0.8 works fine for me

Only thing I've noticed with 3.0.8 is that my navigation on Google maps is being output through the front left speaker only, which it wasn't doing previously!

Bit annoying as if you have music playing too, it all goes to the left speaker when the navigation is speaking.

that's the proper and expected behaviour for all versions. My problem is that doesn't happen until I open the original music app (no navi sount at all).

Guys, anyone use the app Headunit Reloaded to have Android Auto in wireless mode?
i just bought a Huawei P30 Pro but the app doesn't work.
Instead with my old Samsung Galaxy s9+, it worked perfectly....

Guys I installed a rear view camera and have an issue. Sometimes while driving (not reverse obvoiously) the rear view camera turns on for a second and then turns off (music stops its very annoying). Do someone know why this might can happen?

How have you connected it? The backup light is not a good source for power on BMW. Use the red Camera Power wire from the Android unit. Also, have you connected the purple Detect cable? If so, where.
