My 2012 F30 telephone bluetooth has been perfect until I upgraded from iPhone 12 to iPhone 13. Now it keeps dropping off bluetooth and reconnecting. Sometimes it stays disconnected and won't reconnect unless I turn the car off and on, or remove device and re add. I have the latest bluetooth software version. Any tricks?

2013 BMW 328i, activating enhanced bluetooth
Hi all, I have a 2013 BMW F30 328i, bought as an AUC from the main dealer in 2022. It’s an individual inside and out with so many optional extras, but not enhanced Bluetooth audio - very frustrating as coming from a 2012 F30 320i that was very low spec but had it, I presumed it was standard. Later to find out not for 2013 (bizarre to me).
Anyway, I tried an MMI box which is awful to use. I currently use my iPhone 15 pro max via usb cable but both this and my old iPhone 11 Pro will work for ages, then decide part way through a song to just stop playing music and won’t work again until the car has gone through a sleep cycle. Rather annoying for someone who likes a road trip! I’ve tried genuine apple cables, belkin, and cheap ones and they all do the same. It’s come to the point now where I really want the Bluetooth audio function. I’ve had a look through some forums on here and am unable to determine if I can code it in, however I purchased a cheap OBD dongle and downloaded BimmerCode. Firstly, do you know if this is possible to code using bimmer code? And secondly, the car is still under manufacturers extended warranty. Should a fault occur with the system, will it tell them it’s coded like it does if the engine is mapped? Or will my warranty be safe? TIA, Jacob |
