N55 engine in 435i. Sorry, i should have been specific
Edited my above post accordingly. The stock DV is a known weakness in the N55 with lots of boost (22psi in Dinan Stage 4) and so the stock DV doesnt hold pressure well between boost events. Go Fast Bits DV+ is a bolt on solution. Hope this helps.

Anybody with a 6MT have any feedback to share on the MPPSK Elite? I may pull the trigger on this later this summer but I'm hoping that the power delivery is still smooth enough for daily driving.

If we have a mppsk and add the tune would we not have an issue due to the unique nature of how the DME is setup with a hard cap on fueling around 380-400whp.?

It should not but it does take some additional power to drive the front axles, if I had to guess I would say if a RWD has 13% power loss for the drive train xDrive might go up to 14%. This is purely speculation on my part, I'll be happy to consider any other points of view or preferrably some cold hard facts.
edit: In fact xDrive doesn't lower HP but may lower the amount of HP you can put to the ground, HP to crank is not affected by the drive train.

Can you be more specific in regards to "ceiling"? Is Terry referring to the fuel cap? A link to his comment? Not trying to put you on the spot, just curious.

So it's been discovered that MPPSK does raise the fuel limit? Previously it was said that it doesn't but I have not been able to test it either way. If it does then that's great news even if it's a small amount.

Here is some more detail on this:
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...72&postcount=2 Read the FAQ "Can I run E85 with this platform?" - Looks like they updated the FAQ with some detail about it. Quote:

Curious does this have Bluetooth? If so what does the app do?
Also, does this need to be installed by he dealer or can I self install? |

Will you have dyno? It would've been better for me if you had a rwd lol

i'll do a dyno after install after a few days more than likely. i thought of doing one prior to install so car has a settled factory MPPSK tune not a just-swapped map or dinan on base MPPSK map that hasn't settled but not sold on paying twice for dyno time and making the drive twice. it would be nice to see the deltas and provide the data. not sure.

Dealer can install or it can be self installed. The only downside of a self install is the labor is not guaranteed so if it is improperly installed and an issue is caused due to it not being installed correctly then the warranty would not apply. As an example the battery is not unplugged for install and you short/brick the DME as a result. The warranty would not cover that. |

Not sure what you mean. The SPORT unit cannot be upgraded to ELITE. Different systems. If you mean can the non-MPPSK stage 1 tune be switched over a MPPSK stage 1 tune the answer is no as well. It comes down to how the licensing is issued on our end in why that isnt possible. Always exceptions to the rule but thats the company line at least. Regardless, most folks will do 1 or the other and not do both considering the relatively minimal gains in doing so while doubling up the price. Early adopters of MPPSK are the most affected. |

The reason I asked this question was because some already have the Stage 1 installed and were thinking of getting the MPPSK installed. It sounds like they will need a completely new Stage 1 (MPPSK). Quote:
