You should ignore the ethanol content of the pump gas when calculating based on volume. 93 pump gas is still 93 with e5 e10 e15 whatever the country your in / station is using.
The extra power comes from increasing the knock limit, octane, of the fuel allowing more boost/timing. And also the charge cooling due to increased heat of vaporisation. If the OTS map assumes 93 pump gas is zero ethanol content but is actually an e5-15 blend at your station. When you add your e85 by volume and consider the e5-15 blend of the 93, or use a test kit to test % the actual octane rating will be slightly lower than assumed by the OTS map because the test kit is measuring not just your added ethanol but also what was already in the fuel. So I guess better to add more as you have found out in above posts. Then again most pump gas in europe and UK is e5-10 so perhaps the OTS maps already consider this. |

I will have to check about the torque limits being removed already or not. So I made a mental note that it was basically 5.64 to what was left in the tank of 93 oct and 3.6 gallons of original e85. Should I be shooting for approx 9 gallons of e85 total then or assume some of the previous 3.6 was left over target something like 50% of the fuel capacity at e85 on a fresh fillup, using 6.5-7 gallons of e85 from this station and the remainder in 93 octane. Should I be regapping those plugs or can I order them pre gapped? I still remember being told not to gap iridium plugs back in the day so the idea that it’s doable is entirely new to me! |

Regarding the xHP setting refer to this thread https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1717931 Also, with MHD flasher make sure you select Manual Trans/xHP Flashed option. Doing 100 - 200 runs and data log runs people are getting best results in DSC Off mode (hold the DSC button for at least 5 seconds) and manually shifting, changing at 6500 RPM. You're going to need to test your fuel to work out your mixing regime. With the variability of your E85 maybe consider getting the Spool ethanol analyzer kit or similar. I gapped my plugs to 0.024" stock is supposed to be 0.03" and others recommend 0.022" Many people run stock gap at 20 PSI boost with no problems to report. You want to have as big and strong a spark as possible, big gap bigger spark. Burger and others sell iridium gapping tools, https://burgertuning.com/products/ngk-94201-spark-plug

https://datazap.me/u/aleksandersuave...og=0&data=3-22 not sure I felt much of any difference. This was with DSC off. Fueling is the same as the last pull, havent driven since. reflashed MHD stage 2+ after. I followed boosted's settings, as I'm also still on the factory run flats. (PS4's in the garage waiting on some new wheels) I set the Torque limiter preset to AWD, then disabled it. looks like "throttle blips in m mode" slipped past me, its on but default values. Same thing with Max RPM being on. going to order the spark plugs soon. what are your thoughts on the above and the new log? |

The log looks good, timing has further improved, now up to 17 degrees across all cylinders by 6750 RPM and less boost required to achieve target load, just touching 21 PSI around 5000 RPM briefly. Peak power is still at a low 5000 RPM. Is the road you're doing these logs on dead flat or have an incline towards the end? The reason I ask is that Virtual Dyno works the same as a regular dyno in that it calculates torque and HP based on the rate of increase in RPM assuming a flat road, constant loading. If there is an uphill section at the end it makes the dyno result look like power dropped off at the end. Likewise if there's a decline the power curve will be overstated in that area. Does it feel like acceleration is less after 5000 RPM as indicated by Virtual Dyno?

I don’t think there’s an incline but it’s hard to say.
It’s 9/10 of a mile straight away going into the subs by where I live. Do you think it’s worth trying to mess with the settings some more in xhp? I was curious how boosted’s were uniform across the board while yours seemed more customized, or are we talking subjective feel here, more so than actual performance. I did mention the low rpm limit to MHD and they asked me to email them the log and said they would provide me a custom map to try. |

Check the road you made the run on Google Earth, it has very accurate elevation.

Ran this today/yesterday, 3rd and 4th gear BM3 Stage 2+ on E30.. Ethanol analyzer reading exactly e30 and let it adapt for 30 miles or so. Car feels strong, no hesitation.
VRSF Catless DP, Williams intake pipe, AFE filter, TU pump, NGK plugs 4th - https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f03...0b431e9674860a 3rd - https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f01...729b0eeaca9ff4 IAT's certainly aren't helping, that's for sure. |

Which run you did first 3rd or 4th gear ?
You have major timing correction in cylinder 1 in the 4th gear run, If you did 4th gear log first most likely it's due to adaptation. Quote:

temperature outside is reasonably hotter (95 deg F measured by car internally)..unusually hot for Michigan. I believe the last pull was around 80-85 degrees F. same settings, 4th gear, sport plus, DSC off, in M shift mode, with the same custom xhp stage 3 settings I had last time, to match Boosted's setup. https://datazap.me/u/aleksandersuave...og=0&data=3-22 felt like it certainly hit 6500+ a lot quicker...and got to 100 reasonably quicker..I was backing down off the pedal a lot earlier than normal distance-wise on my 1 mile stretch. |

I also noticed this lately lots of tuners opting for this strategy with the B58, lowering the boost gradually at high RPM for better timing.
