Your factory issued FSC Enabling code is valid for navigation maps with release date up to 31-May-2022, so you do NOT need a new one. Just install 2022-1 map.

Ok cool, so even if we're past 31-May now it will still work?

2022-1 Map was released well before 31-May.

Download map, extract it, and copy to Fat32 Formatted 64 GB USB Drive.

Will a new update work exactly the same way or will I need a FSC code then?

You will need a new one as the map release date will be after your FSC Validity Date.
