That's odd, i've been going there for years and never had to pay for a loaner, although most times it has not been a BMW, they provide a free rental car from the Discount car rental desk in the dealership.

I think if you purchase from them, they don't charge for loaners.

I suggest the fair value would be 20-22.5% off the MSRP and that's price + taxes and no other fees at all. After all, you are buying a used car, NOT a demo.
Therefore, $65K seems like you can buy a 2014 brand new one. |

Yea i talked to them they wont budge on 65k taxes in and everything out the door i really thought thats too much. For a year how much percent off msrp are we looking at for discount? Does demo/used doesnt come with cpo warranty if they sell it the same year?

Demo will low mileage (typically under 2000's km) and registered in service already will have the balance of factory warranty in place. Used one will have the balance of factory warranty and if you want CPO (status on used) with extended warranty, then you will have to negotiate with the dealer to get that thrown in. The difference in calling a demo & used would come down to how many kms on the car.
Typically, for a car driven 20,000km in the first year, the car will generally depreciate by about 30% and by end of 3rd year, the car would have depreciated by little bit more than 50% |

1st full year of depreciation with about 20,000km would be in the 30% range. Given your example has about half on it, then I feel 20% (roughly 2/3 of a full year's depreciation rate) is being suggested.
By end of 4th year, the 335 will have a residual of about 42-44% of the MSRP. |

Swap?
I contacted my dealer about deals on winter tires and he wanted to see if I was interested in this:
$1700 down and he would swap me from my 2012 Luxury 328i to an xDrive. I have about 40k KM's on it. I have had car for almost 18 months Payments would remain the same (he is still hammering out the details) I feel I am paying a bit high now $704/month. MSP was originally 47,900. A friend just got a '13 Xdrive loaded for $650 all in... thoughts? Thank you! |

^ your friend got a low payment - mainly low interest rate + factory credit + dealer side discount, offset by lower residual and all due to getting the car at end of model year
In your case, what interest rate you signed, looks like you got yours at beginning of the model year, thus some dealer side discount but no factory credit, offset by higher residual Mind you, if you do switch out for a new ride, ask the dealer what's the negative equity in the switch and show all details for both new & current car |

Thank you for your reply.
At the end of the day it will all come down to numbers. I am assuming the negative equity is being made up from some form of discounts (that I never received, due to timing of my purchase), my $4400 I put down and then the $1700 I put in now... I appreciate any and all feed back, this is all new to me |

Looks like I am going to swap my 2012 328i no xdrive for a 2012 x3 Msport x35.
My payments are going from $700 to $850 (with 20k balloon), KMs are almost a wash (40k on each), the x3 has more features (rear/front camera, bmw connect/apps and enhanced BT (all of which I don't have) My negative equity is being absorbed and I get a bigger vehicle for my family with the features I was missing in my 328. Any thoughts? |
