Anybody else having a weird issue with google maps on Android 10? I can open it up fine, it will find my location but about 1-2mins later, it’ll drop GPS. It’ll find it again about 3 minutes later, but all other apps that use GPS are fine, along with the GPS test app. If I close google maps and re-open it, it’s fine and the issue is gone!

I’ve tried reinstalling, clearing the cache but neither have fixed it. I’ve also done an Android update to the latest version and that hasn’t helped.

I’ve only had this problem since upgrading to Android 10.

For those that use Avin units, or their apk solution/dongle for carplay: There was just an update to the dongle itself that added support for separation of volume control between media/navigation/microphone. It's in options, under "Additional Settings".

I don't know how it is on other units, but finally being able to lower or raise the navigation voice independently of the main volume was one of the last quirks I've been waiting for them to add/fix.

To summarize: This is regarding Avin units (but not necessarily just), and the app called AutoPlayBox which they use for their wireless carplay integration via their dongle.

I will post in this in the Avin thread as well, in case if no one else has.

I get this message when trying to connect:

Try updating the zlink app. That's worked for me before when I've had errors. Haven't had that error before, however. After a restart it fixed itself.

I'm also having long wait times to connect, although it does now auto launch after BT connects.

I've been using Power Amp for my default music player and also have MediaMonkey. I have a couple of questions
1. Is there a way to change the default music player? I'm not impressed with the one included with the AVIN 10 screen i have
2. What other music players have people been using? I'm curious to see if there is a better player out there.

Try the following apk that I grabbed from the update cache folder in my Avin unit after updating autoplaybox recently. If it's not the version you're looking for, try the instructions in my original reply.

I bought it in FLTONBOO and no problems with the unit or sending. Regarding to support Aliexpress sellers provide, is usually bad, but thanks we have this forum...

Hi, this is the unit I brought last week.
So far:

1) front camera does not work when connecting in any video input except rear camera input. In previous Android 7.1.1 worked fine.
2) zlink for either wireless or wired carplay does not work. I have tested every possible scenario. No carplay with iphone yet
3) customer support through aliexpress very slow and no solution yet...
4) good quality overall, UI performance, great idrive integration
5) reliable wifi, bluetooth connections

Few of you have been waiting for this and I hope you won't be disappointed.

Just wanted to give an update about a post a made a while ago. I had ordered an adapter similar like to to use as a USB socket in my glovebox for my Android.


Turns out the green plastic part of the Fakra plug behind is too long and it can't be mounted into the glovebox.

So thankfully you can still slide out that white adapter inside, and have the plastic piece of socket exposed.


So I hotglued a USB extension cable in it. I agree not very professional but gotta live with what I have now. I mean it holds for now


This now mounts and locks in place!



I do really wonder why these chinese sellers have to add that Fakra adapters if its staying in USB on the other end anways.

I have a Netflix question for you all. I downloaded the apk from apk mirror (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netfli...35087-release/) and used the play store app “App Manager” to install the apk mirror apk format (apkm). Netflix works and I get video, but no sound. Any ideas?
