My car was produced in Sept 2012 (MY13) and it is 47.5. However, I can not code some very simple features like e.g., HUD turn signals (even if I set the right values) and someone mentioned, that the reason for that could be these six missing files which where included in v47.1 and are missing for some reasons in 47.5. I do not get any error messages while connecting with esys 3.18.4 to the car, and other features like automatic high beam control work very fine. Thank you! René |

I am not sure what is up with your HUD Turnsignals. After coding it, did you enable the checkbox in the iDrive HUD Options too?

I don't know on the F30, but for the F10 it is:
CIC / HUD_TURNSIGNAL KOMBI / BLINKER_HUD_ENABLE The 2nd one adds "Turn indicator" Checkbox in Settings=>Heads-Up Display that must be checked to work.

Well, the 2013 F10 owners with HU-NBT are having the same problem, so there is something about the new Head Unit where it isn't working. Hopefully it can be figured out or a new BMW Firmware will fix the problem.

Well, without a working previous MY 2012 F30, it is difficult to know if it is just not possible on the F30, or if it is due to some new or changed parameter in 2013 models.

Has anyone found the module and code on the F30 to be able to close the trunk from key fob or inside button? This is listed in the F10 cheat sheet and I've heard of similar changes in F30, but I couldn't find these settings.
HKFM > SCH_FBD - Button on key fob will be enabled to CLOSE the trunk HKFM > SCH_TOEHKI - Button on driver-side will be enabled to CLOSE the trunk Anyone who got this working, any tips? |

coding questions
Hi Guys,
I'm writing from Germany, so sorry for the bad english. 1st of all, yo're doing a great job with this thread ;-) I have an F30 only with xenon lights without any light assist systems. Therefore my lights power switch contains only ON/OFF and Parklights, no "A" Automatic Mode. I get the welcome lighs only when my lights Powerswitch is set to ON. Is there a code to get the welcome lights no matter the switch is to ON/OFF? Speedometer lightning: Is there also code for the Cockpit Speedometer light (Instrumentebeleuchtung), should be always ON no matter if the Lights switch is set to ON or OFF? would be grateful, to get some codes to achieve this, Thank you all in advance bye from Frankfurt Dos |

I'm new to the forum and got a 335i on order and coming in a few weeks, my first BMW! I've been reading around the forum and this is by far is the most interesting and detailed DIY thread I've came across. I wanted to ask if someone could please send me a PM with instructions on how to get the current E-Sys program and datafiles required so I can fire up my laptop and start making modifications once I get the car. I see most of the links have been removed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Shawn and everyone for the great information on this thread! Did some coding this weekend and got a lot of the changes I wanted, such as unlocking the doors when car is turned off, got rid of disclaimers, automatic start/stop remembering last setting, weatherband, TPMS, and a lot of other changes.
I've had a few problems that I ran into though with some changes that didn't really stick that are related to HUD and wondering if anyone had any luck with those... 1. HUD display time KOMBI > HUD_CC_MAX_DISPLAY_TIME - I tried changing werte to 28 which should be ~4 secs, but it seems like 8 was still being used which is the default 2. HUD turn signal HU_CIC > HUD_TURNSIGNAL > aktiv (werte = 01) KOMBI > HUD_BLINKER_ENABLE > aktiv (werte = 01) - I set this up and got the checkbox to show up in iDrive and enabled it, but didn't really make a difference. 3. One thing I also noticed is that while the HD radio checkbox is on for FM and it used to work before, I no longer get the HD broadcasts now or the station information broadcast about the songs. Has anyone had similar problems? I may need to revert to the prior CAFD file for now to see what is up. |

Another thanks for the great info in this thread, particularly to shawnsheridon and svache.
Successfully coded: - Legal disclaimer removal - DVD in motion - ASS remember last setting - Rear DRLs Only complication was not having a laptop, so instead I used a power line ethernet adapter to connect the car in the garage to the desktop PC in the house. Rear DRLs

I have never heard of an HD Radio issue before. You can try and reset your CIC by right clicking on the ECU itself (not the underlying CAFD) and selecting CODE to reset it, and see if it comes back. If it does, redo any CIC FDL Coding you want, one at a time, and check your HD Radio functionality after each change and make sure it continues to work.

47.5 vs. 48.1 PSdZData CAFD Changes
FYI. The difference from 47.5 to 48.1 for the CAFD folder only is one file removed and 45 added:
