Between the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the Surface, then the larger work laptop, seems to cover all my uses.
I'm not stuck on Apple for everything. My phone is a Samsung and had them for years and prefer to I Phone. Not looking to use as a laptop replacement though, purely for leisure and mainly internet surfing, and at the moment Houseparty/Zoom use. Makes the Air the sensible choice, but just can't seem to get past the fact that the Pro looks better.
I've no doubt I'd think the same and plump for the pro. You'll keep it for years, the extra cost is like speccing a USB port on a BMW. Go for it

Done. And Currys have buy now pay in 12 months interest free.

I thought why not go for that. Feels better than spending loads of money now in uncertain times. Hopefully all fine this time next year when I have to pay.

Almost feels like a "free" iPad Pro.

indeed - think they are an outgoing model as there is a decent discount on them. Hooked up to Arcam 8/8P which must also be over 20year old.

Push them via my MacBook using Soundflower and AU Lab.
Then get this running:

Try this. If your head's still in one piece at the end of it there's something wrong with your 'phones

Often think it makes more sense to pick up some of the run out models. They’re good speakers and their slightly forward bias will nicely counterbalance the slightly warm Arcams. I used to have Monitor Audios paired with Cyrus - not to everyone’s taste as both could be slightly forward and unforgiving particularly with poorly recorded music.

I was searching for a weights bench at a reasonable price...which is almost impossible as one that would cost under £100 now costs 300...

Anyway came across this Ad and thought of Broncho ....

I'd love a new set of speakers to go with the Audiolab stuff I bought a few years ago, but the cats think floorstanders are scratching posts

Meant to say, my Surface Pro IS my work laptop. Great on the move, but then I always have it hooked to a monitor and keyboard etc. at work or home. In fact I've set it up as a second screen while we are locked down at home.
