I just purchased a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ as well as the BimmerLink app, and when setting the exhaust flap to 'Open' while the car is idling in Comfort mode, it opens to 100% for a half second, and then closes to about 75%.
Is that normal behaviour, or am I missing something here? I've searched around the forums and can't seem to find a definitive answer. Everything I'm seeing shows the valve as 100% open.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the motor/wiring to the motor? I think any will be helpful? Long story short, I put an f82 m4 exhaust system on my e90 335 and I’m trying to wire the valves up to a switch &/or remote. I have the connectors and pins for the wiring part but I’m not sure where & what the signal is. I also bought a CG VSC-2 for the project. It just has +/- & the signal wires but I’m not sure if I run the signal to a switch, it will power the vsc-2.
I saw a thread on a mustang forum for a AE retrofit, which uses the same or similar motor, but the user had to cut the motor case openf, and solder 2 wires onto the motor, bypassing the circuit board. I have no problem doing this, and I bought another actuator motor to play with. My concern is that if there is no timer or limiting controls for the motor, it could keep activated(if the switch or remote button is held too long) until it burns out or breaks the gears. So I’d prefer to keep the factory safeguards. At the same time if the signal is too complicated to replicate I can just rely on my ears to know when to let of the button. I’ve read it activates very wuickly(~1 second?). Thanks for any help or helpful suggestions. And no, ‘go **** yourself’ is not considered helpful lol. |

Bimmerlink Mobile App
There is a setting in the Bimmerlink App where you can change set the exhaust flap to be permanently opened.

If you use BimmerLink to open the flap, does it stay open after the car shuts off, or does it always reset back to "auto" when the car shuts off. I thought I saw that somewhere. I want my exhaust flap open, but I don't want to have to connect bimmerlink everytime i start my car.

Must be different across years/models. I used bimmerlink to set my flap to "open". It stayed open during my initial drive (about 10 minutes). Turned off the car, ran into the store for a few minutes, came back out and started my car again, and the flap was closed. So I believe on a 2019 F36, it will reset that option when the car is turned off.

In California, this cam cause serious issues with passing emissions smog checks that are mandatory. I considered this product: https://valvemaster.ca/products/bmw-...40945876664506
