- Also don't use remade tunes, better learn to tune yourself or fine a reputable tuner(extremtly hard to find one that actually knows what they're doing)
-Tune using LAMDBA and not AFR...Lamdba is always the same no matter the fueling while AFR differs depending on the fuel... -Keep the heat and backpressure down so go for a 3.5 inch downpipe and a proper Intercooler |

Just went stage2 on my 320i with bm3. Here's a log if anyone's interested -
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=61c1...90c6576740d28c Observations - 1. Boost is a lot lower in this map version (2.1) compared to the 2.0 maps. It seems to be limiting power. Will switch to 2.0 Stage 1 map to see how it performs. 2. Some corrections but nothing to worry about. 3. No burbles whatsoever with OTS settings. Any suggestions for what to use? 4. Car is really really fun to drive. Contemplating if I should buy mgflasher and try their stage 2 maps. 5. Will also try the normal Stage 2 91 map instead of the 91ACN map to see if my fuel can handle it. |

I noticed something with the b48b20a in the 20i engines
They have an air charge cooler unlike the b48b engines ao there is no charge pipe ? Or what is happening? I have jb4 on my 420i g22 b48b20a AKA b48c engine will my charge pipe survive jb4? |

Update on my 330e b48 engine which i ended up having rebuilt. Ended up ruining a rod bearing while running bm3 stage 2 93 octane. Since then ive noticed that OTS 93 tune runs much leaner compared to the 91 or e30 tunes...at least for me. Guess the 93 gas wasn't quite good enough and I had some pretty bad knocks...I should've watched datalogs more closely. Now i am hardly getting any knocks on either 91 or e30 (about e35 and 93 petrol) tunes currently and the engine runs great.

Hi,
I have flashed my 320i B48 for first time same days ago with BM3. I have flashed it with Multimap Stage1, but I think something is going wrong, because with Map 2 selected (Stage 1 91 Octanes), sport displays with full throttle not show more than 200HP...,I think with full throttle maximun power should be around 250Hp...something more is experiencing this with multimap? Y have recorded this video where you can see what I'm telling about.... I have opened a support case but I'm waiting for a response Last edited by castrol; 05-12-2022 at 05:32 AM.. |

F30 330e owner here with the A-variant B48. I've been running the MG Flasher Stage 1 91OCT OTS tune for over a year but just recently installed a VSRF DP in prep for going to Stage 2 - before taking the plunge, I did some logging. Seeing a concerning amount of knocks and TC. I suspect it's fuel but am open to any other thoughts or suggestions? Plugs were replaced (NGK OEM gap) about 3k miles ago.
https://logs.mgflasher.com/log/723fc...yI6W119&wide=1 A buddy suggested mixing some E85 at my next fill-up, but I'm a little surprised to see knocks and TC on the 91OCT tune with 93OCT gas. The car runs, drives and sounds great. Still hesitant about going to Stage 2. Last edited by metatr0nX81; 09-05-2022 at 09:28 AM.. |

What I think happened: The DME was reset on Saturday and I didn't give the it enough time to re-learn timings before trying to log. Please tell me I'm right or wrong! Now, I'm just waiting to hear back from MG Flasher support and hoping that I can go to Stage 2 soon. |

has anyone looked into if VVT makes any difference in the tune?
I am interested to compare the stock VVT tables but I only have access to the 20i lower power stock map, if you have BM3 and a 30i engine please post this table form BM3, or tell me if it is the same as my 20i below BM3->Map_Editor->Stock_Tune->Valvetronic->Vanos->Intake/Exhaust Warm I did notice the MPPK, did have different values but only slightly high exhaust retard at high load/rpm, but not sure if that is more for emission or performance. Note that I believe the tables are in terms of exhaust RETARD and intake ADVANCE, or where higher numbers of either one is more spread |

Thanks! Almost exactly the same, B58 is also very close within a few degrees, I do wonder if BMW is more emission focused in higher RPM and if anything to be gained by increased value spread by retarding the intake at higher loads and RPM
I was thinking to try something like this below, about a +10 deg intake retard form 5-7krpm vs stock, will try it out but I think it will be hard to tell measure difference with draggy as I do not have access to a dyno... |

I've been running MG Flasher stage 2 (91oct/95ron tune) for about 20k km, maybe a little more, still going strong on my F30 330E. I'm using 93oct/98ron gas only.

Hi.
Just bought a licence for my 2018 320i B48M. Reading throughout this thread, it looks like I should be running stage 1 91oct with 93 fuel to ensure there isn’t any issues. We have good 98 fuel here in Australia so shouldn’t have any issues there. My car is stock with no mods. Wish I started reading this thread before I bought the licence. Now I’m second guessing whether I should tune it at all - I can’t afford to blow my engine with a young family. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I do it? |

. Your looking at 20-25hp at most. It not nearly as noticeable as from a stock tune to stage 1. If I was going to tune a car in the future. I'd most likely stick with stage 1.
