I really like that you can feel the texture, I probably wouldn't have done it if it was a glossy smooth finish
Is that shifter wrap matte? Wrap or plastic overlay?

Neither! It's real carbon, matte/textured finish. Direct from BMW. I got it in Canada, so there's a chance it might only be available there but I suspect not.

Still a WIP, wanted my radiotrim to be matte, but f'ed it up, so spray painting it + waiting for a strip for the front.

Got them off aliexpress, 18in1 single zone:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003622127210.html

There are multiple vendors where price can differ. There is also with addressable RGB, but I am not really into it:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002994785307.html

It took me a weekend. All door cards off, drilling holes for bowel and storage lights, cutting the led strips to length (which is not supported but can be done easily, if you know where to cut), placing the strips (might have to take them off and hot glue them if they dont behave) and soldering/wiring to make it as OEM like as possible

There is a button to turn on/off and switch between colors/modes. No brightness control. It can be controlled by an app which is not ideal...

However, I am looking into making a "remote" to control the bluetooth receiver directly using esp32 development board.

did you replace the LED bulbs to blue and keep the optic fibre system? or did you replace the whole thing with an LED strip?

No optic fibre in my setup, everything lighting is aftermarket. I hot glued a led strip on the amber/blue leds for rigidity - dissected a LED strip from the set and removed the diffusion plastic layer.

I'll probably should have just bended one of the included strips..
I am thinking about adding a diffusion layer later. If you are super up close you can see some individual LEDs..

I’m going to redo the centre trim.

I’ve rewrapped my interior trim. This is how it looked at first wrapped in KPMF gloss black with Hexis tiffany blue

Now it’s redone in VviVid forged carbon on the passenger side and carbon fibre on the driver side with the forged carbon film breaking away on the centre trim

Usually it's what happens when you take the picture with a phone held vertically, which is called portrait mode. The forum software wants to display pictures as landscapes, with the longest dimension horizontal, so it rotates them. Taking pictures with the phone held horizontal should fix it.

So it's a static colour now and changing the colour from the Idrive doesn't do anything?

My car did not come with ambient lighting package, so I can't change the color via Idrive. If you have ambient lighting there is a post about a mod where you can cycle through color via Idrive. Retrofitting ambient lighting the OEM way would call for FEM swap which I don't wanna do.

I have a button placed by the handbrake (you can see the button in one of the other pictures) that cycles through RGB colors/modes + turns on/off by long pressing. I can also choose color through an app using Bluetooth

Very nice, where did you get the yellow seatbelts from.. thinking about doing the same... could go nicely with my freshly painted yellow brakes..

Just ordered a new steeringwheel with a yellow 12 o clock stripe, further mods.. 6WB digi tacho, leather dash , real carbonfibertrim, complete F80 M3 seats and rears made to fit.

Last LED strip added - not optimal, the small width of the trim at the passenger side is obstructed by the LED, so can't push into place, probably need to do some surgery on the acrylic LED strip

Redid wrapping of the interior from cheapo vinyl matte black to 3M matte black

I also redid the AC-trim lightning - probably not visible in pictures, but better in person

(also added a new magnetic phone mount, just double sided 3M one)
