My car came with the 6WA cluster and my initial complaint from day one was the lack of daytime back lighting on the gauges. On a bright sunny day with sunglasses on the transition from looking out the windshield to the cluster was horrible.. With scripted sun glasses it was even worse for me. Why I went with the 6WB and would never go back. Having the different drive mode displays gives the interior a more modern OEM look that should have been standard on the LCI.

You can code the cluster to be brighter during the day as well. https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/i...tness.1363517/

The WA cluster doesn't have day time backlighting so it's not possible to make it brighter. The coding you linked only affects the digital part of 6WA below the analog gauges, not the entire cluster.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I meant you can code the 6WB cluster to be brighter.

Too much. Coding takes 15 min and there are many step by step tutorials and videos on YT. Even remote coding won't take more than 30 min. A brand new WB runs around 1k USD from European sellers. Got mines from Latvia.

I'm with you. I also leave my hud off and wish the screen in the middle of the dash wasn't there or could be folded away. I'll probably be chased out with pitchforks.

Anyways... Just got a new set of PS4s and an alignment. They're just so good, I can't recommend them enough (not that I need to, as everyone already knows).

that’s honestly slightly cheaper than what i paid here in the US, with the price of the cluster, sales tax, and coding session. so if it includes VAT and everything, then sounds fair to me.

You can get used virginized clusters on EBay. Coding can be done using Binmergeeks Protool and an enet WiFi adapter.

Converted my Rennline phone holder to the MagSafe version. For some reason I don't have the footwell 12V plug to power the charger. I used a 39W Anker dual USB plug with a 9" USB-A to USB-C cable......very solid & MUCH better!!!

Had shop install my “carbon fiber” exhaust tips. Unfortunately one bolt was seized and they had to destroy the old chrome tip. This resulted in the labor being triple the cost of the tips! Anyways, looks a lot cleaner.

Very nice! That's weird you don't have a 12v socket in your passenger footwell. I thought that was standard on all F3x cars but guess not.

If you wanted to you could hook up the spare USB2 port in the back of the head unit which provides the extra USB plugin under the radio panel and use that for power. You would need a new lower trim panel that has the USB socket though. That would allow you to use a like 3" USB cable for a mildly cleaner look.

Rennline also offers a Magsafe style charger that attaches to their mount.

Those aren't real carbon fiber? You can't even tell if that's the case. Looks good!

Well, they are not the OEM CF tips, that’s for sure.

I had the same problem with my F33.
I was looking into BimmerCode and it actually says this option doesn't work on convertibles. Don't ask why...

Changing rear brakes on the F31 this week, ordered parts with a well known online vendor. When parts were ordered I input the VIN and also used online chat to verify the parts. The F31 is an M Sport but does NOT have M Sport brakes. Open the boxes and sure enough, the wrong parts. The car is already disassembled and up on a quickjack. Contacted the vendor, they apologize and say they are getting the correct parts out to me. I stress the fact that the car is 30 miles away from home and in pieces and that I need it back ASAP requesting an overnight delivery. The following day I get an email with the tracking info (its Thursday morning) It says delivery by 7PM Saturday. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I end up driving to Global Imports BMW that had the correct parts in stock. Job done within 30 minutes.
