I haven’t even used the Android portion, which I think will be fantastic- always in a hurry so CarPlay is what I use

Cleaned and coated her and mounted the bike rack over the weekend. Time to sell . . . ? Nope.
Looks so good. What visor/fairing is that?

Ceramic coated my new Aodhan AH11s with gyeon Q2 Rim Evo. Glad I did it with the wheels off as I definitely would have messed up some of the more intricate and hard to reach spots if they were on the car. Hope to install this weekend!

It's the Thule fairing. If you go slowly, the plastic screws come out of the mounting points and plastic endplates (and if you don't, Thule sells replacements); then you can flip the center section over so the giant "Thule" logo painted onto it is on the back, and voila.

I was going to switch to OEM or Thule aero bars, but I can't fit four fork-mount rails on those, so I kept the square bars I've used on my last three German wagons.

Oh dope! Yeah it looks great without any branding.

I’ve been trying to find the Thule bars for my F31 forever. Problem is the from my experience the Fit Kit is impossible to find.

It's strange that model isn't on Thule's website (184023), while the instruction manual is. I seem them around on the net, here and there (West Marine of all places) but for ~$120 and usually out of stock. Found this, though.

I got mine on eBay for about $20 when I bought my 2016 f31 new. There are a few there now for $60-90 mostly from the UK.

Finally got to really drive it again, after 5 minutes to swap out the boost solenoid it’s back at full power again!

But I learned that one of my tie rods is seized when I went in for an alignment, so I get to replace that soon, at least that’s easy to do as well and pretty cheap, always something to fix!

Summer wheels installed today! Aodhan AH11 18x8.5 wrapped in Pilot Super Sport 245/40/18 (misclicked thought I was getting Sport 4S, but Super Sports are still extremely good)

Car feels like a whole new beast vs my allseason Sumitomos. Dramatically more agile and light feeling, steering feels far more precise - weight confirmed when I carried the old 400Ms and tires out of the car lol

Pictures coming after a wash this weekend

I'm European myself, but last week I was majorly surprised in the way that things are limited in Europe (I'm aware they are), but,

apparently, in Germany, it's ILLEGAL to change your oil yourself. No matter what non-professional infrastructure you have. It's illegal mostly because of environmental reasons.

I know Europe was tight, but this is a next step. So, basically, the only maintenance you may do yourself is changing windscreen wipers, and refueling.

Changing engines on your driveway is already no-go in Europe as it is mostly illegal to actually change an engine in any car. I mean, you can change it to the SAME TYPE OF engine that was present in the car when build, but nothing else. Not even to another engine that was available in the same series of car, when it was built. Reason is that the car itself was built for a given engine, and you must have that type of engine.

New coils to try and clean up logs (these are the old ones). Also just had 4 dings/scratches on 4 different body panels fixed. The hood had a lot of rock dings and now it looks amazing.

That’s quite exaggerated…
First of all, Europe is a big place. Yes, there are common rules, but definitely not down to that level - this can only be country specific.

I have lived in a few countries in Europe, from far south to far north, incl Germany, and in neither is it “illegal” to change your engine oil! This said, there are regulations about what you need to consider and enaure in order to do so (environmentally friendly). And I doubt that if you leave a 6L puddle of oil on the street or public place in the States, the police (or city administration) would just say “yeah, sure, why not, nothing illegal about it”.

To build a house garage in Austria, you need to ensure and demonstrate that it features a drainage under the car with a reservoir sufficiently large to retain the oil of a car if it happens to leak out.

Maybe there is a reason why tap water in most European countries is good and drinkable? 😉

Change of engine? Yes - correct for Germany. You cannot modify your car freely beyond its approved configuration.
And yet again - there may be a reason why there are so few fatal road accidents per capita in Germany despite no speed limit? 😉

Nothing comes without a cost.

Put on new shoes (Aodhan AH11 18x8.5 ET35 Matte Bronze wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/40/18), installed MAD downpipe, and flashed BM3 Stage 2 91 this weekend! Been getting poured on during my commute lately and need to do a good detail for the summer.

Next big project will be a suspension refresh to help lower that gap lol, but I don't mind it as much as I was worried I might.

Titanium valved exhaust

Over the weekend I installed my valved catback (SS single resonator midpipe + titanium valved muffler). Aggressive when valves are open and quiet when valves are closed.
