Basically the interior trim (the Estoril Blue highlight) was damaged before delivery, so that has to be replaced. Also I have the PDC software bug as well as some rattles in the door panels, so that has to be addressed at the same time.

I have to try out later whether adding (or changing/removing) those VOs will enable or change certain features, such as BT data transfer, Office, BMW Live etc. |

Could anyone help me with the FA editor... let's just say I bought the front PDC retrofit kit, after I'm done with the hardware & wire harness installation, is it as simply as using the FA editor to code in the option code for the ride and it should work, or it's more complicated than that?
In all likelihood, the dealer won't be of much help (unless we are willing to pay them an arm & a leg) to do the coding, so wanted to find out what exactly need to be coded! Thanks! |

1) You would use FA Editor to add PDC Option to VO, then write the VO to the CAR. If you do not write it to the car's VCM, then future dealer programming will wipe it out. 2) I assume the retrofit kit comes with a module, so after connected, it should appear in your SVT, but you will need to use Detect CAF for SWE to add the CAFD to it, then VO Code the module. 3) You will also need to code other affected modules, which I imagine would be KOMBI and HU_CIC, and maybe FEM_BODY. The easiest thing to do is VO Code the entire car to be safe, which you can do also by selecting your VIN at the top of the SVT and selecting CODE. Since VO Coding though codes the entire module, in this case every module, it will overide and FDL Coding you may have done, and you will need to come back afterwards and redo it.

EDIT: Read some more of the X3 thread, it looks like AL/FL are low beam / high beam. So that really just leaves SML as the possibility, so I'll give that a shot. Last edited by zeezz; 12-22-2012 at 07:45 PM.. |

I'm perfectly alright to recode those minor changes that I code using FDL, not that many |

Was looking for this (which is mentioned earlier in the thread)
BC_DIGITAL_V_KORREKTUR on the 2013 M5, but didn't see it? Am I just missing it or is it really not there? Note: I did find BC_V_KORREKTUR and disabled it. However, I am still 4mph off at 70. (So it reads 74 when I'm actually going 70). Last edited by johntomferg; 12-23-2012 at 06:23 AM.. |

I think disabling the cold and warm checks won't affect the actual functions of the lights. The car just won't tell you which bulb is out. TFL_L or R: front LED corona rings L or R NSW_L or R: front fog lights FRA_V_L or R: front turn signals FRA_Z_L or R: most likely mirror turn signals as the setting is set to LED as default AL_L or R: low beam FL_L or R: high beam POL_L or R: are LEDs according to the settings, maybe the parking light strips on the tail lights. If the above is correct and AL/FL represents low beam/high beam, then BIX is free-up. The following 2 are either rear turn signals or brake lights? but there is also reverse and rear fog lights (maybe in the LCI entries)... hmm... need to do some testing over Christmas. SML_L or R: not LED BIX_L or R: not LED LCI_0: LED LCI_1: LED LCI_2: not LED LCI_3: LED LCI_4: LED LCI_5: LED LCI_6: LED LCI_7: LED LCI_8: LED |
