This will probably help you: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ility/IHEuL03N
Off-factory, the FAKRA connections are color coded. (Dark) Blue is GPS normally

DRuw is correct. The blue connector on the back is from your OE GPS antenna.

I can confirm that DAB+ reception in Germany is not perfect.
When car is moving around DAB+ app has crackles and audio dropouts. Especially when outside of the city. Reception with FM radio is way better. Don't know if it's app related, DAB app came preinstalled on my unit. Will also do tests with Zoulou's DAB app.

In my factory setup menu under car type, I dont have f30 but instead X1, E60, X3, X5. What car types do your unit list?

Should I expect that I will have a stretched screen? I will hate it if it's stretched..

The 2nd thing I'm wondering too is the mic.. I ordered the mic too, but I'm not sure should I install it or not? Can someone explain in short (for dummies version) what are the reasons to install it / not install it?

Thanks Supernova66 for the video!
Expect your screen to be stretched if your car manufacturing date is older than 7/2014 with 6/5" non-nav and there's nothing we can do about it per the other thread about replacing 6.5" with 8.8" screen. Coding is pretty straight forward. You can start reading about it at coding section. You will be surprised as to what available/hidden functions and features our cars have.

With regards to the mic, you will need it on the android side of the unit (siri, ok google, waze) since bmw built-in mic can only be used while you're on the bmw idrive side afaik.

If our screen is the same as that with AVIN then you can purchase a screen protector from avinusa.com. I might get one myself or aliexpress might even have it cheaper.

Ok... time for me to chime in on an issue. I have obviously changed a setting that causes the screen to enter a "screen saver" mode where upon I get the dreaded "no signal". Hitting the back button brings me right back. Now I have to figure out how to unfuggle my selection!

Is there any Android geek here?

I still can't get out of the bootloop. The android side is not accessible now, only BMW side work

I'm sure that every unit has specific method to reboot in recovery mode, but I still can't find the method for this unit. Alice is still in silent, no answer at all

OK, I just need to live with that then.

I'm thinking whether this matte screen protector would be ok for the screen.

Yep. That needs to stay in the factory radio.

Hi, I installed mine today and coded the car to 10.25 but it's messed up. How do I disable the android split screen? Thanks

Do not worry fixed. You need to go in factory settings (my pin 2018) and change the car type to a 8.8/10.25 and double tap it then it fixes it.

Yes, the optical cable(green) is bundled with a black cable in the same fitting. Remove the fitting from the oe head unit cable connector and insert into the new head unit harness. Easy to do. This will all make sense when you see it.

Just installed mine.
Backup camera awesome!
Sound clear.
Boot enough fast. I cant see the difference compared to the OEM.

The only problem i see is with the GPS audio. Too much noise...i am in contact with Louie to figure out this problem.

Just give you guys a little more detailed on what I’ve testes to report to Louie:
I had to re-route the Aux to armrest. All videos and music...everything goes to AUX, except the GPS. The GPS audio (waze or google maps) is going directly to the headunit or combox (not sure). What i know is that it is not going to Aux. i removed he aux connection and i still hear gps commands with a louder noise.

Make sure your aux audio is turned down to around 15 to 20. It seems higher than that overdrive's the system audio. You can then turn up android volume by swiping down on the head unit, bringing up "function" and "notification" shortcuts. I have found you can then turn up the volume here and it will not distort the sound.

Also, I'll write up a post soon. All installed and works great but I need to finish wiring the reverse camera.
