You can't buy the tune separate. It comes as a package.

A guy over in Europe bought the whole MPPSK. He only wanted the exhaust and did not want the tune.

I bought the exhaust 2nd hand a few states away and saw the Europe guy selling the tune, unused and so I bought it from him. He sent me pictures and video of the folder and how it was never opened.

Playing catch up. I have tried to call/ and email several bmw dealerships in US.

They all
said MPPSK is no longer available. Is this true? Just got 2020 440ix 6speed and hoping for a little better sound.

thanks!!

Hello,

You would want the M Performance exhaust specially made for your 2020. The MPPSK is only for 2016 - 2018 340/440i xi.

That's not true. There is no difference (related to MPPSK) between a 2018 and a 2020 F3x 40i. The only exception is OPF, which European F3x B58 have from MY2019. MPPSK is officially not compatible with OPF.
As long as there is no OPF - MPPSK is available and compatible, no matter which model year.

I was under the assumption he is a G series and not an F series.

You realise we are in the F Series subforum, right...?
Hope he does as well.

Still your statement that it is only available up to 2018 is incorrect.

Oh yes! That is why I said what I said. I know every so often, people make the mistake in posting in the wrong forum or don't know which series they have.

I am hoping as well..very expensive mistake.

Are you sure it's not a G series?

There were 2019 (and 2020 as well I believe) f32/6 models too but these were not compatible with the MPPSK f they had the OPF component as Skyhigh mentioned. You can technically still install it but it won't be legal. So dealers won't do it. A third party shop can install the exhaust but the tune requires a dealer. Also getting rid of OPF will cause issues probably and needs to be handled as well.

What is OPF? I have a 2020 F32 and just recently got a quote from my dealer to install MPPSK. They entered my VIN and gave me a quote. So does that mean my 2020 does not have OPF?

It stands for Otto Particle Filter. It reduces emissions. If your car has one (if in the US, I think it will have), they won't be able to install (or shouldn't, because illegal) and cancel your order.

Only the European F3x have OPF from MY2019 onwards.

Looking at a lightly used 2019 440i - it definitely has the M Sport carbon exhaust tips, at least. What's the best way to know if it has the full MPPSK?

Look under the car where the muffler is and it should have indented lettering on the muffler, I believe it says M Performance...something along those lines. Take a picture of it and put it on this thread and we can verify it for you too. If it does...it's the best exhaust ever for the F30 B58!

The M Performance axle-back exhaust doesn't have the embossed lettering?

Look at the attached exhaust pictures and look at how the piping is routed. You will instantly know what you have.

Muffler on the left is MPE and the other one is the MPPSK exhaust. Huge difference!

I’ve been chasing down a rattle, I had assumed it was a heat shield. now I’m pretty sure it’s one of my exhaust valves…. MPPSK valves do not have the spring clip that is notorious for causing rattles…. I am out of warranty now, does any know if MPPSK valves are serviceable? Or if getting a new actuator would stop the rattle? Doesn’t look like the valve can be replaced without changing out the whole muffler assembly…

As far as I know they have the exact same clips as the standard exhaust valve.
