Hi, does this DIY include tilt detection?
Some say the sensors are inside the roof module. Tilt detection = when someone tries to steel your wheels by jacking up the car. |

For those interested. There is also a "OEM" BMW retrofit kit for ALARM system.
Partnumber: 65752448362 You will have a extra module (instead of coding) Interior motion sensors included (instead of replacing roof internal light dome) I prefer the real OEM way, including coding. |

The sensors in the roof module are the motion sensors. The tilt I believe is in the alarm horn itself. On ebay it says alarm with tilt sensor.

So I thought I would come back and explain where I screwed up and how this cause my alarm to go off after a certain period of time. I finally went back and double checked all my work and realized I wired into the fuse box on 130 instead of 103. Needless to say though after I fixed that, everything was working great.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Minimum wiring requirements for OEM alarm. Connector A21*1B needs to be wired: 1 - ground 2 - power (via F62 30A) 3 - to mirror for LED 11 - signal IN from Siren 14 - K_can2_H 15 - K_can2_L my case: I have no sunroof, so there is no power supply (pins 1+2 empty) But pins 14 and 15 have wires. Pin 11 will get signal wire. Q1: Do I only need to power FZD? Q2: Do I really need 30A, as it seems only relevant for Sunroof motor. It is safe/worth trying to use power and ground from connector A21*2B. I don't care if 5A fuse will die, just don't want a dead FZD module. Q3: Is it possible to simply add a red LED diode to PIN 3. I don't want to change rear view mirror. link to wiring diagram: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...tem/1VnYSzkO9x thanks! Last edited by manitaci; 10-12-2018 at 04:47 AM.. |

yes you have to feed the FZD you can try to reconnect to the power supply A21*2B or use the original power supply A21*1B (2)F62 and put a 5A fuse in place of the 30A. I have never tested but you can try with a led |

Looks like the FZD module allready gets power from A21*2B. Pin 14 and 15 seems crucial. Everything works fine, only to test a external LED next weekend. UPDATE: LED diode works directly on PIN3 and ground somewhere. Last edited by manitaci; 10-16-2018 at 03:22 AM.. |

Sorry for bringing up something that's a tad old, but i noticed that I am missing 14,15 pins which are for kcan, I believe this is why I am not seeing the module in the ecu, has anybody else tried running 14,15 to somewhere on the kcan2 bus and had the FZD module appear afterwards in esys?

After putting it off for a year, I've decided to finally buck up and retrofit the alarm system. Anyone willing to help out a newbie with coding (esys and whatnot) but decent experience working on cars?
