We all should post where our cars were made as well (Germany or Africa), that would be very helpful

Drill down the results further - Specific Issue Reported by Model Year...Any trends?
For the survey results that have been reported so far by members of the community, it would be interesting to see how each reported problem is distributed between the 2012 and 2013 F30 (MY12 vs. MY13).
We already know that both model years share common problems. What I'm saying is it might be interesting to dig deeper in the data...to segment all this data to see if a particular issue listed in this poll affects one model year more or less than the other. Are there any other interesting trends or patterns to be discovered here? What are they? That's what I'd like to know... You can actually click on the poll results and view the names of all the members who reported having that issue. From there, you can click on each user name to see if their profile mentions if they drive either a MY12 or MY13. Some of you provided this info in the "About Me" section in your profile. But many of you don't mention the year of your car, so we're missing some very important data in this survey. Anyway, there might be some fascinating trends that can be extracted from all this data... |

There is also excessive road roar even on non run flats. This is a suspension noise transmission issue and also a sign of cost cutting in padding. If I wanted a noisey unrefined sports car I would have saved the cash and bought a wrx. Huge disappointment

Mine was built May 2012 and initially was good, but this is the list of faults that have developed.
1. After about 6k the gearbox started making a slight whine in reverse. Also noticed a 'bump' when selecting Park. Gearbox replaced under warranty after 11.5k (2 days in the shop). 2. Rusty seat bases (to be fixed under warranty). 3. Traffic info used to display on satnav but for the past 4-5 months it rarely shows up at all, maybe one journey in ten now. Dealer puzzled. 4. Brake squeal. Dealer was supposed to have sorted it but the car still does it, though it's quieter now. 5. FEM replaced (although to be fair that was under customer improvement programme). 6. Variable performance of rear parking sensors. 7. Nearside mirror often doesn't reset after dipping in reverse. On a positive note, I have VSS and standard suspension and don't have the steering vibration problem. Also suffered a split front nearside wheelarch liner, no idea how it happened though. Also had a buckled nearside rear alloy caused by a pothole.

I had my car for 2 months now and it has been back to the dealer 3 times already. I have the 2013 335xi M Sport full loaded with 19inch Wheels. I've been getting a chassis warning light that comes up at random. The problem is when this warning comes up, You loose the shock absorbers. Car takes bumps very hard. On NYC roads, you can't afford that to happen. Already bend a rim because of this. Now it's at the dealership again and they are telling me the car has a bend hub which will cost $2500 to replace. So now I'm in a fight with BMW because I will not pay to replace parts on a defective car. Oh I forgot to mention, I was driving 3 weeks ago and the car went into limp mode when I was entering the freeway. Not a nice feeling having other vehicles slamming brakes behind you.

Mine is a 13 built in germany and let me just say, I'm glad its a lease. The car looks great and has a great engine(minus the software glitches) but it really was put togeather like shit. Not as wellfit as many other years and models I have had or driven. Shame its a 60k car.
