I love the brakes.
Let's hope that there is substance to the M / sport suspensions. Pray for a limited slip and more HP in a si version. I love the increased flexibility, moving to the Euro marketing model of intermediate steps btw base model and M. M3 owners seem dismayed at the evident loss of exclusivity. Who cares? I want a cheap, light, high performance 3 series. The E9xM did not do that for me. Aftermarket mods to an E90 did.

First impression - it's not ugly at all. It's just mind numbingly boring. BMW played it safe at every opportunity, and we are given a car that will blend into the sea of cars.
I'm still waiting for the M4 as that's what I'm most interested in, but they are going to have to make some serious aesthetic adjustments or I'm looking at the RS5. |

I think the upcoming 2 series is the new 3 coupe. I'm afraid the 4 looks more like a luxury yacht (akin to A5) that is all the rage these days. No problems with that. At least BMW is giving us more options. The 2 that Scott posted looks fantastic.
Also, here is a comparo that I spoke of regarding F30 vs F32. I think the F30 M-Sport bumper looks more aggressive? |

A massive wing on the back would be functional too, but who wants to drive around in a shopping cart? Also, does it have to look that bad to be functional?

44 pound weight reduction on 435i is not impressive.

And the side sills look like they're right off a Ford Focus. but - I'm not any more excited by anything else coming out these days. I can see a 435xi coupe replacing my 328xi coupe in a few years - after everyone else has worked through the initial bugs

When you factor in added equipment/more rigid then you get it.

The car looks very promising, no doubt. That 428i and 435i in the back is going to get some getting used to. The way the car swoops down in the back seems a little awkward at some angles. Kind of gives it that Tesla sedan look in the rear. Maybe because the rear window and the trunk are attached together when dispensed. In the e92, it just seems so seamless the way the back roof line comes down. Kind of funny how there is no "Modern Line." Possibly BMW understands that it is a pointless line. Otherwise, the car looks fantastic. The need generation of three and four series seriously look fantastic.

It looks ok-ish, that's it. Nothing like the lovely concept. Does not wow me from the pictures. Might be different in reality. The M Sport saloon in EBII is the pick of the breed. It is practical, and practically perfect IMO.

Is it me ?
Or does this look nothing like what was shown months ago as a concept ? These new photos are much more Bauhaus and less Pinafarina ...
I loved what this one concept photo showed - not quite as thrilled with the actual outcome.

The car looks very nice...love the profile...i think it looks very sporty how it stretches to the rear.
The interior, even though it's almost the same as the F30, looks slightly better. BUT, It's still is, in my opinion, the cheapest looking interior in all of BMW's new series. I need to understand something, and I hope SCOTT26 can give us some insight, as to how come the 4 series (specially 'cause they changed the name!) looks much closer to the 3 than the e92 every was compared to the e90... It's just too weird that they went with a design that is this close to the F30..its the same language with different proportions (headlamps, rear lights). Even worse, the 4 should have had a higher standard interior and not the same dreadful looking dashboard of the 3 (i actually like the "ipad"y detail). With a new name, the designers should have had the freedom or the excuse to draw a car that's as different as the 6 is compared to the 5 (interior and exterior). |
