Also, do I need an older version of e-sys to add my VIN and FSC if I have a later 2016 KAFAS2 that I am retrofitting from a newer car? Thx :-)

BMW changed their policy, they won't provide you the FSC codes, until you have coded the option in the car and added them to the VO and have it read out by BMW so that the VO will be synced to the BMW servers. For example by having done an oil service.

When that is done I can help you with getting the original FSC for your car.

And no, you don't need an older version of eSys.

Hi everybody

I'm trying to code the SLI/SLA fonction by coding my G31 LCI .

I have option 5AV (not 5AS) and Live Cockpit Professional, a camera MID, the ECU KAFAS 4 but no vibrating steering wheel, no adapted mirrors, and no side sensors.

I've already been able to access some parameters FDL, but I'm still missing some things:
DKOMBI → Speed ​​Limit Info = SLI activ,
HU_MGU → Speed ​​Limit Info = aktiv,
KAFAS4 → SLI/TSM activation ≠ all off camera fusion),
I still don't have the menu or the display.
Do you already have a tutorial for SLI/SLA coding?
Do I need to replace 5AV with 5AS, but since I don't have all the hardware, will that cause problems?)
Are FSCs required to enable SLI?

Sorry for the late response.
You first need to code it in the VO, then go for a service, for example oil and then after sometime the option will be visible at mdecoder.com. When you see it there we can order the FSC.

You don’t need to write anything fsc can be order for your vin and is not necessary to go to BMW dealer.

Well it is here, BMW changed their policy for getting FSC. They check the VIN and if the options are not connected to the VIN they won't supply the FSC.

Again this is not true and I don`t know who give you this information. I can buy fsc for any F serie without any problem. Maybe your dealer can`t talk with some other one

Hi everyone,

I'm in the middle of a KAFAS2 retrofit on my F30 320i and I've hit a wall with several persistent DTCs that I can't seem to clear. I’m looking for some guidance on the correct coding path or if I'm facing a hardware compatibility issue.

What I've done so far:

Hardware: Installed a used KAFAS2 module and camera.

I-Level: The entire car (all modules) is on I-Level 24-11-520.

Flashing: I successfully flashed the used KAFAS2 module to match the current car's I-Level (24-11-520).

VO Coding: Added 5AC (HBA), 5AS (Driving Assistant), and 8TH (SLI) to the FA.

Coding: "Coded" (VO Code) the following modules: KOMBI, NBT_EVO, FEM, ICM, DSC, and KAFAS.

Current Fault Codes (ISTA):

800ABC: KAFAS: Camera does not match vehicle type.

030351: K-LIN 16 steering column switch cluster (SZL): Wrong version.

030490: Steering wheel electronics module (LRE): Missing LIN slave.

800AC5: Heating camera-based driver support system: Short circuit to positive (I know why: heating element is not connected yet).

D01484 / D01903: Steering wheel vibration messages/signals missing.

Notes & Questions:

SZL: I have the correct SZL with the HBA button ready to be installed (still running the stock one). I assume this will fix the "Wrong version" and "LIN slave" errors once installed and calibrated.

FSCs: I have a set of FSCs from another VIN to import. I am aware that with I-Level 24-11, I might need to downgrade the KAFAS firmware to an older version (e.g., 2018 or earlier) to get them to stay "Active" without being rejected.

My main concerns:

Error 800ABC: Why am I getting "Camera does not match vehicle type" even after flashing the module to the latest I-Step? Is there a specific FDL parameter for CAMERA_VARIANT that I should manually override, or is this related to the FSC status?

Downgrade: Should I downgrade the KAFAS firmware before trying to fix the camera mismatch, or should the mismatch be resolvable on the current 24-11 firmware?

Vibration: Since I don't have the vibration motor in the steering wheel yet, can I FDL code the KAFAS/FEM to ignore the vibration requirement so the other 5AS features (like FCW) can still work?

Any light on how to proceed with the camera variant mismatch would be greatly appreciated!

If you use donor VIN fsc, you need to downgrade the kafas firmware.

Yes, I've done the downgrade, now kafas ilevel is F020-18-11-520
But I still have the following errors:

800A07

Actuator steering wheel defective

800ABC

KAFAS camera: The camera does not match the vehicle type

800AC5

KAFAS window heating: Short circuit to positive or interruption

I still haven't changed the SZL, so vibration error is ok
The camera heating is not hooked up yet

By the way can I deactivate steering vibration for now? I've got the new SZL for HBA, but no vabration module and motor yet

If I load FSC 800ABC will disappear?

I have a vin with all 3 FSCs how to load the right way?

Maybe you can try to run ISTA kafas calibration. Because camera also save your VIN in camera.

I ran ISTA before, and there it shows my VIN on camera and module, even with out calibraton. But this error still there, Do I need calibration to get rid of it?

Today I'll try inserting the FSCs codes to see if I get rid of this error, if not I'll try change from 5AS to 5AD to see what happens.

By the way, camera and module came from an F22 M235I 2014, and harness from F10.... My car is an F30 LCI 2018
