I'd be after the touring. Don't seem to see that many for sale though unfortunately.

Thanks for these. I'd be after a touring for sure. Probably looking to get a 20/70 plate around spring next year.

The last one in the list, 'up to this and beyond', sold in less than six hours after going live on Auto Trader.

I called Vines Wednesday morning last week to make an appointment to look at it. Booked for 9am Saturday as the salesman didn't work Thursdays. He even did me a lovely walk around video too, then called me four hours later that Wednesday afternoon to inform me one of his colleagues had flogged it.

^^ Yes you have to be VERY quick at the moment to grab a F31 40i from BMW AUC.
They sell so fast.

Gotta laugh as WBAC are offering me £18k for my car. If only they knew the money I've spent on the mods to it!

LSD, fuel pump, suspension, turbo... oh yes.

Looks like I'll keep it a few more years

I can only imagine..
But to be fair, WBAC arnt really in the game of buying modified cars. They see your car as a factory 40i, nothing else.

Just weighing it up as I've been driving diesels to & from work since I started the commute 7/8 years ago (averaging 42 mpg) and never really thought about a petrol.

I do a 72 mile round trip daily, with over 50 of those on the motorway, so I think it's justified.

Sorry and just to bolt another question on:

What sort of price are low mileage, fairly high spec two year old 340s going for?

Thanks again!
I’ve come from a 330d doing 18K miles pa mostly motorway and doing around 40mpg

Got a 440i and yeah it can be touching 330d mpg on the motorway, not so much around town and when having fun. But like everyone us saying the extra few quid is well worth the fun

BTW I did travel to Cornwall and back during half team last week and got 460 miles out of a tank and that was only about 60 miles less than my 330d on the same journey.

Here is my F36 I got last year

Got it from BMW AUC and is a 2019 with 4K miles on the clock. I’ve done another 6K miles in it now and currently WBAC have offered me £2K more than what I paid for it last August

Where do we think we draw the line and go for a diesel, when it comes to miles driven annually?

Any help would be appreciated!
No, I wasn't borderline diesel. My pre-LCI 440i GC gets me from central Italy to London (1,000 miles) on just over two tanks (about 125 litres). I don't need a car to be more fuel-efficient than that, and I'm not sure where else I'd find a very rapid 360bhp petrol that can give me that sort of touring range. It's almost freakishly economical on a cruise.

Ragging it in Sport on decent roads, or urban driving, are different matters. But diesels aren't good at either of those either.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like it's really not much more running the petty. For the sake of a few quid and being able to have that B58!

Looks awesome! I wanted a GC originally, still slightly on the fence..

Sorry, what's BMW AUC? Specific auction site?

Thanks

You did well there! I think it sounds a no brainer really. I'd probably be cruising most of the time, but know that when I need to I can..

!!!! That really is amazing. I'm averaging 29.4 MPG (over the last 15k miles), which considering my lead foot (and the fact I spend at least 50% of my driving in sport mode) is also pretty spectacular.

Try a track day though - averaged 5mpg on my last one. Such a versatile engine, this B58.

Oh don’t get me wrong my normal average is 25mpg. Like you that’s in sports mode and lead foot.

Doing 400 miles per tank was fairly hard but totally possible without driving at 60 MPH and using ECO mode

Like you say its such a versatile engine

Struggling to get above 18mpg, but 95% of trips are through London

Yikes that is low, but if in inner London (I'm on the outskirts, 5 mins from the M25, so lots of extra urban mileage) and constantly booting it, entirely possible. You might want to double check what oil your garage is using though.

It's accelerate/stop most of the journey and of course sport+/xhp stage 3 so not surprised
Bmw is doing the servicing so not worried about low grade oil. Whenever I motorways/extra urban, the mileage is great.
