I think i might slip some foam underneath though to protect the hose
I will try to adjust it again and maybe adding some foam pieces to protect the pipe.
This is a little inconvenient, lol.

I got an email back from CTS. Looks like no one has been complaining about it, but they did recognize that there really is very tight tolerances. Looks like we just need to be extra persistent with installation

Mine also rubbed a little.. I think that the fork piece has to be all the way down so it "pulls" the filter even deeper. (that sounds naughty)...

lol maybe, but then you may risk rubbing against the coolant hose. There is enough clearance to have a gap between the hood and the coolant hose. Just use some putty or something to double check when closing the hood. I think i got mine situated.

No issues with idling. I believe CTS guarantees no CEL.

After reading the recent post, I went to check and mine also rubs on top and the bottom. Guess I will have to do some adjustments so that top and bottom don't touch. Or at least the top don't touch since it's metal to metal. The believe the bottom hose is thick enough that it'll take a lot of rubbing before it pierce through.

i was sold on injen but then read to many reviews on rough idling so looks like CTS it is. So oiled filter is the only choice? was hoping for dry

I had the AFE Momentum Pro5R for a while and it didn't give me any CEL. I did noticed some occasional idling issues on cold starts. As if the engine is grasping for air while the engine is warming up. There are no issues once you start moving and the sound is good but muffled since it was a closed intake.

The CTS intake doesn't do any of that, it behaves like stock, no CEL and the power increase is very little or maybe my butt dyno is not sensitive enough. On the other hand, the sound it emits is intoxicating.

Here is what CTS reply when I ask them how to clean the filter.

"When you want to clean the filter we suggest to fill up a 5 gallon bucket with warm soapy water, then submerge the air filter and dunk it in and out of the warm soapy water until the filter is clean to your standards. Do not scrub the filter or you may damage the filter. You can gently brush it with your hand to coax the dirt and dust out. Once it is clean to your standards let the filter dry for approximately one day and you should be good. You should do this once a year, or twice a year if you're in a very dusty area. You can oil your CTS filter lightly once dry."

Hope this will help you choose the right intake.

Cheers!

CTS is a dry filter. You can apply light oil if you like but I prefer dry as well.

Great, I guess it's time for some adjusting again lol... At first I set the fork too high and my hood wouldn't close, I kept moving it down slowly but it kept pushing the hood up on one side so I just pushed it all the way down. I just noticed that it's actually pushing against and maybe even compressing the bottom hose a little... Oh well, I'll get it right. At least there's no CEL. As for rough idle, though rare(or maybe just minimal) it's still possible to get it with the CTS intake unless you get a tune.

How long have you had it on? Deciding between the bms and this one. Have heard nothing but good things about this one
