I like this week’s software update. The big visualisation of the car is neat, although a bigger ⚡️ for the port would be appreciated.
Think the music interface improvements are good. Recent enabling of matrix lights was an unexpected treat too. Just in time for the shorter nights. I’ve taken a punt and enabled Tesla vision parking instead of the sensors, mainly to see how good the 360 view is. Certainly, the stuff in the screen has taken massive steps forward in 18 months of ownership.

I am eagerly awaiting the arrive of my model Y... seems Tesla wont allocate the stock/VIN to me until the car is in the country and ready to be collected it seems...
No time frame currently... just waiting for a text from Tesla.... that being said its only been 4 working days since the lease company confirmed everything through my employer.. speaking directly with Tesla at Dartford they seem to think 2-4 weeks is reasonably right. |

Yes interesting Mash, most seem to like the updated interface, not got mine yet, any day now.
As you say the matrix lights was a nice update, certainly no one was going out late at night just it checks them

Balance is restored.
It’s good to be back. What a weekend for collection. Not driven it yet with the top up!

Forgot to mention the other new feature that detects average speed zones and displays your average speed within them. Love the MX5 ❤️

I'm out the loop on updates (being Tesla-less), so will be good to see the host of changes once back in. Still watching M3P prices closely...

Adding chimes to speed cameras and readout of your running average speed on average speed zones was also a nice touch.

BMW rolls out a product refreshes it regularly externally and internally you got to change the cars to enjoy the new look and new features. Tesla rolls out a product and it just looks the same for many years and functionality is drip fed with time to make the customer feel there is continuing incremental value for the product.
Overall I can see how the latter approach is more cost effective for the manufacturer and customers. The Tesla is/was the most functional product(just the look inside and out are about aero and weight reduction) at that point of time and has what most EV buyers look for, the BYD and hyundai/kia/geely etc are increadingly carving out their place in that bracket. |

Joking aside, there's no doubt the M3 / MY platform is a great piece of EV engineering, but others are catching up, and from what I can, Tesla don't seem to be really developing anything significantly new. And throwing a hand grenade it the charging network can't be helping them. |

They have been taking the mickey since covid, a lightly specced i4 with 340hp is close to 70k so they need to be generous with the incentives.

80k now covered in the X, given up regular washing a long time ago, but after parking under tree for most of the day, the literal S...T shower took things too far.
So had to give it a wash today with the help from a 8 year old....this was our 'washing' gear. However despite the total neglect of any paint work protection, multiple tours of Europe, multiple visits to multistorey car parks etc, the 'quality' of the paint is holding up surprisingly well. It's a real shame Elon seems to have totally lost it, the cars Tesla makes are fundamental great, practical, cheap to run, but also pretty quick. 1 year left to run on the battery/motor warranty on ours, and than we'll have to decide what to do next. |

Given the oldest Model S in the UK is only 10 this year, I'm glad the doors/wheels haven't fallen off the X yet!!!
Latest software update seem to have improved the Autopilot visualisations quite a bit, who knows by 2030 we might get some kind of FSD code in the UK . Last 4 weeks I've done nearly 2000 miles in the X due to various work trip/meetings, next week off to Edinburgh than Leeds, so the miles are racking up. So early US S/X cars now seem to be on 200-300k miles with their orignal battery packs. Hopefully it's a good sign, if the X does need replacing, I'm pretry sure it wouldn't be another Tesla. |
