It is, they all expire 3 years after first registration.

Hmmm, not too sure, if that were the case I would expect an extra 12 months to be tagged on to any AUC, if less than 3 years old. Considering the issues we all appear to have with connected drive, I think it mat be a challenge.

When I bought mine (AUC) at 4 years old there was no connected drive services. Seems quite an expensive service for not much benefit so didn't bother subscribing
On the other hand map updates are easy to do once you've got your fsc code no need to pay for anything |

Alternatively there is a program you can load on a USB stick that does it for you, this works on CIC, not sure about NBT which I think a 2014 car will have If you're anywhere near Herts I can probably help you out Getting the FSC code is a one-off, once you have it it can be used to generate keys for all future map updates |

I saw something on YouTube about simply putting the maps on a USB and using the FSC code. Looked really simple, that why I was curious. It just implied that once you had the code it was an easy job. It was an Australian guy on YouTube. |

Yes, that is correct. Once you have an FSC code you can then generate a key for any future map updates
The map updates themselves are freely available, it's the key that's the bit you need to actually install them |

Just to update on this. Car is 4.5 years old and when I registered myself with connected drive it has come up with everything having 3 years to run! So I’m guessing the previous owner never registered it. Only issues is it shows the previous owners private reg. doesn’t effect anything. Updated the maps from 2014, to 2019 straight away no issues.
