Smile Questions about the HID and Depos

Hello!

I have a few questions...so I have a 2014 F30 328i with halogens...I am upgrading to the USR DEPO Projector headlights. I am now looking to add HID lights to my car like yourself.

I looked online and noticed 2 different routes...

1. This route posted in this thread:
- Part #: 1 × BL70
- Part #: 2 × B292 (Could you please also tell me if I need the A or B configuration)
- Part #: 1 × A90 (Would I need 1 or 2 of these)

2. This route was found when I entered my vehicle information on the Retro Fit Source:
- Part #: 2 × BL11, 2 × B292, 1 × H210

Could you please tell me which routes in the recommended route and the pros and cons of each route.

Also, since I still have to order the HID parts...but I have my Depos now...would it be smarter to wait and install the Depos when I have the HIDs as well or just do the Depos now and HIDs when they come?

Thank you very much!
Sorry, I'm such a noob

I listed all of the parts I used in the first post.

I don't know what parts you listed, what they go to, or where they are from. Sorry......

Not a problem the parts I listed are from the same website but I clarified with them. However, did you get the H7A or the H7B bulbs?

Don't know. Checked my order on their website, doesn't specify. Just call them and ask them what you need. That's what I did, they were awesome to chat with. They also helped me out with the quad xenon projectors for my twin turbo LS swapped M5 headlights. Using 4 Evox-R 2.0's.

I'm getting it as well. Did you ever get help on how to fix it?

I just installed mines yesterday. Whiles putting the HID in, I noticed the projector housing was kind of wobbly. While driving, I notice the lights bouncing slightly as well. Does anyone else have any issues like this?

Did you have to cut a hole to fit the new wires of the HIDs? What did you use to patch it after?

That beam pattern is so clean. Mine looks nothing like it and I’ve already adjusted them.

The instructions that came with the HID bulb or ballasts told me what size of bit to use. I think it was a 7/8", but don't quote me on that, I really don't remember. When in doubt, read the instructions. LOL.

Yes. I have those issues and my outter seals on both my headlights are no good. When I wash my car I get condensation in both lights. I’ll be looking for a better set of replacemts next Spring. I’m highly disappointed.

confirming what timmay said. I used a step bit but ended at a 7/8"

I wired in a relay with the low beams. When they come on, the fog lights do as well.

I had Depo Lights and HID 35W Ballasts professionally installed yesterday. Overall, look great. A couple questions to the group:

1) My halo rings appear pretty blue, especially more blue than the OEM pre-lci halos. Has anyone done a side by side?

2) Any idea what the right Kelvin rating for HID Bulb should be? Currently have a 5000k HID Bulb, but also wondering if that is too cool

3) The high beam has a cheap looking plastic cover to it, anyone know of any mods to make it look more like the OEM version?

Thanks!

hey timmay i just recently purchased the exact DEPO headlights that you purchased also from rock auto. I was hoping you could help me out figuring out the wiring process as the housing came with no bulbs included. I'm not sure exactly how to go about finding the exact bulbs i need, also all of the wiring is coming out of the low beam access point, so im not sure which wires are supposed to be in the low beam, turn signal, high beam etc. You can contact me by email (j.pierre23@hotmail.com). I would really appreciate it!!

Are you talking about the halogen reflector housing for the hibeams instead of projectors? Sorry bud, nothing you can do. That's partly why I didn't go with the depo's
