I have coded my 320d F30 a few years back. I have saved FA & SVT back ups on the esys premium software. (Apx 2016).

Recently I have had a fault where by my drivers side headlight bulb stopped working. I have been told that the frm module has reached it (x50) short circuit calculator. Which has now stopped that headlight lighting wire circuit.

(Temporarily I have piggy backed a power cable from the passenger side to the drivers side to have both headlights working. I know its not ideal but I have to travel 500 miles of night time motorway, every weekend to drop my kids).

My question is: Can I use my old esys back up to reflash the frm module so it will then maybe reset the counter to what it was back then?

Bmw say they want 600.00 pounds for a new frm module as the counter cannot be reset. I feel they are just trying to con 600.00 out of me for something thats not even broken?

Please help with any suggestions if possible, im really stuck on what to do.

I have downloaded the new E-sys pro 3.30.1 onto a fresh new laptop.
But I still have all my FA & SVT backups from 2016 which I could use if required from my previous laptop.

You can reset the counter with ISTA+.

Could you kindly tell me a bit more?
Where can I get or buy ISTA+ ?

Is it easy for me to do? Does it just give you a list and I select the frm modual to reset the counter?

I have been ok with esys but im not exactly a pro either!

Your help will me really appreciated!

You have to read the error memory and then the program will help you to reset the counter.

If you have Full, there is Zero reason to also have Lite, and not that you would ever need it, but you could just make Lite from full.
