Do you have a picture with the trim removed to show the wires and connector?

I don't have right now. But there is no connector, just two wires , not so thin like the 2 for sensors, but thick wires. I will take a photo with trim removed.

I really want to do this retrofit but I really feel like the guides are lacking in clarity, from the eyes of a noob.

I am hoping to put together the parts needed to do this soon. Thanks for all the info so far.

What is this vibration part I keep reading about ? Do all heated wheels have this or need this to work ?

How do you know what column number you have ?

So, for the moment I'm using an sport steering wheel heated, I can say it's a nice future, but heating time is a little bit long, and is not heating entire surface. I hope that the M steering wheel will be better, but for the moment it is at a leather workshop to replace leather with heated and 4 wire conector one.

Not sure if anyone had seen this as it didn't get any responses, but I did a write-up DIY on retrofitting the Heated Steering Wheel in the F30 about a year ago. Just thought I'd link it here in case it would help anyone out.

roxxor Verry nice write up. One question, why you have to code CIC/NBT? Is there anything that you can set from CIC/NBT?

Probably not, that write-up was before my understanding that the FA is how the car determines the owners manual versus coding in the headunit. The Headunit does not have any actual functionality with the Steering Wheel Heating.

I got this button: 61319201736 but it is used and doesn't have the cable. Can you give me the pin out for this cable so I can make my own cable for it please?

I did everything as instructed and got + - from the lighter socket and connected it thru airbag connectors. The heater button light doesn't light up and on ISTA it says the heater button is not connected. I got the button brand new and tried with another button too. anybody has an idea?

On my car (F06 M6) I had to code the SZL module (that the button connects to) to enable heating function first.

Not sure if F30 has SZL though.

Is it possible to install a wheel with heating to a car without the option? I mean do the other functions still work normally? I´m not interested in the heating just want to update the steering wheel look...
