Here is a quick unboxing of the chargepipe if anyone wanted some more pictures and videos of what it looked like.

Great! Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to pull the trigger and buy it from genuine-only and give it a try.

i bought one on ebay too.
had ftp logos photos in the listing but item came without badges.
seller said they just "forgot" when i asked.
either way, looks exactly the same including packaging.
no fitment issues according to my mechanic.
i did notice there is a "lag" at low revs before an abrupt surge. unsure what it is and couldn't be stuffed spending money investigating. sensation is like a build up, before pressure is released.

Could be the engine adapting to the new airflow, and if that's the case then give it some miles. Also could be a knock-off and therefore the pipe is too wide and so it's harder for air to build up pressure inside of it. Normally with chargepipe you get a better throttle response because of the shorter distance for air to travel so I'm not too sure. What you're describing sounds like turbo lag but with these dual-scrolls, that's basically non-existent.

Did you buy it from the ebay seller name 'genuine-only'?
I just bought one off him yesterday, so I hope I get the same 'genuine' one as GTBrandon

Yes, that is exactly who I bought it from. Paid Tuesday, he shipped Thursday, and I had it Monday.

Bought from 'genuine-only' because of your review and recommendation.
Paid Wednesday, shipped Thursday, arrived Monday.

Build quality looks as good as you showed in your video.
Will probably install next weekend.

How should I secure the screw in the bung hole so it doesn't get sucked into the charge pipe? Would blue or red locktite be ok?

If it screws in snugly and you just want a bit of 'insurance', then Blue should be ok. Red is generally only for 'permanent' things, or parts assembly that you know can handle 500+F heating up to then remove the item.

I just used an allen key to secure it as tight as possible. Didn't even think of using locktite, but that's a good idea! Just make sure no extra liquid seeps through and gets sucked into the engine

Just an update: Installed the FTP xDrive version on my F30 335i 6mt and it fit without a snag. The rubber plug and clamp for the vacuum line seem to be secure enough. Let's hope it stands the test of time.

Also, the fit and finish of this item is fantastic. I'd definitely recommend it, especially for the price.

Glad to hear your install was as easy as mine! How was taking out the old chargepipe as this was a real PITA for me?

Wasn't too bad. Pulled it out from the top, like others recommended. The fact that the oem one is plastic made it slightly pliable in order to get it out.

Just make sure you check before you buy. I would find it weird if they forgot the badging.

Probably where I went wrong haha, tried pulling from bottom and it took honestly half an hour just to get it out.

Lol just an update I was able to grab one just before the price update I got the charge pipe for 197 lol and I made an offer of 150 for the boost pipe. Will update when it arrives. Did anyone who purchased from Canada have to pay any duty or tax?
