Don't forget to get the exhaust clamp and v-band clamp for the downpipe as well.

Yes I have an idea what it entails ,I work on my own cars ,but if one cannot do it whether it be time constraints or no facilities, by all means get it done. Im just excited and anxious to here the results when its all done. I'm sure he will be pleased.

Wow thats awesome. Bro lets hear some feedback on the turbo. Hows it feeling up top??

Turbo lag? Faster compared to stock turbo? lol

Try Map 2 for now. I would get into a custom map 6 for the future as well.

I did like 2 pulls on map 5 and Im over boosting hitting 20psi from 16 target with traction issues. Yes i will put it on map2 till I mess more with map6 and actually I need to do the pwg diode cut and firmware upgrade.

I normally run e40 with the trim around 40-45. How much E% I would be able to run with a safe trim on stg2 pump? Thanks
Running any ethanol over whats in regular gas is just going to lose power. 93 and about 16 psi is gonna be the stock fuel system limit (hpfp).

Edit: read you are using JB4: You really need a flash tune to lower the AFR. JB4 is gonna leave you at the lean stock tune and that is when stuff starts melting.

I run E25 and 17 psi on my PS2 without issues. After 17 psi, the HPFP pressure dips some.

Are you a mile above sea level? Boost is a calculation of absolute manifold pressure - atmosphere pressure = boost

Sea Level is 14.7 psi
1 mile up is ~ 12.0 psi

So really 17psi a mile up is more like 14.3 psi at sea level. So running E30 that seems reasonable levels.

I'm waiting on mhd to be release to do ps2 custom map.
So, you are saying putting E doesn't give any more power on ps2 stock fuel? Right now I'm over boosting on map2. Need to do that pw ISO diode cut till I get the flash.

Pretty much. About 12.2 psi, since atmospheric pressure is typically down 2.5 psi here, give or take a little due to weather. I probably do have a little more margin in the fuel system than someone at sea level, but real world experience has shown it's far less than you think. Shit goes south real quick over 17 psi in terms of fuel pressure. Still, it takes sustained 19-21 psi to coax an HPFP stumble and code out of it.

It's kind of sad seeing my PS2 equipped car running numbers that stock turbo folks at sea level see. Of course, at the same altitude, I'd likely tear them up. Naturally aspirated cars lose about 17% power, turbo cars more like 12% up here at a mile high. That's nice, because it puts a lot of other "faster" cars out there at a big deficit. My PS2 X3 runs with X5Ms, beats M2s, S4s, an older TT RS, new 5.0 Mustangs, any of the SRTs. Just got schooled a bit by an S63 AMG, though not by near as much as either of us might have thought. I'm hoping with additional tuning, I can add more cars to that first list.

BM3 is worth every dollar.

You've dropped the cash on the turbo.... whats another grand on probably the most important mod you can do to the car...?

Switching from JB4 over to BM3 was the best thing I've done to the car.

If I did not have any tune, will be over bm3 for sure but I'm going to try first MHD BEF with jb4 as the custom map for ps2 will be free and I will only spend $249 for MHD license. Im still not a fan to open my DME so another fact that is keeping me away from bm3.

I hear ya... I'm just saying do it once do it right. I think you'll be happier with the BM3 all said and done.

At first, I also had the JB4 with PS2... When I switched over to BM3 it was incredible.. The software, the app, the never-ending free flash revisions... its awesome. Every time I do a data log and send it over, they revise the tune and the car just keeps running better and better. Just my opinion....

Why are you worried about unlocking the ECU?

Are you sure a custom map would be free? Even if it's a BEF w/ Jb4, what would be the incentive for the tuner to create a custom map for PS2 for free?

Here, it is on the first post. BEF is free for JB4 users.

I didn't click on the link but, I guess as long as it clearly says free custom tuning for jb4 users with upgraded turbos, then you're good.

BMS (the maker of JB4) is developing free BEF maps via MHD for their JB4 customers. This is an attempt by BMS to stay relative to the tuning game. Since BM3 and MHD have come out JB4 sales have taken a hit. BMS is pushing a BEF + JB4 solution as superior to BEF only, thus offering the flash for free but you still have to buy the hardware.
