When did you both place your order with Tischer?

I ordered mine (with DME) on Mar 25 as soon as they put it up on the website, they emailed me late that afternoon to reconfirm my VIN, to which I responded around 6pm on the 25th, then got a response from them at 10am the next day confirming that they have my VIN and it's on order. I received an email on Monday Apr 8th with the UPS tracking number for delivery today.

A suggestion: you can cut down on the install time at the dealer if you install the new engine cover and intake silencer (and associated underhood sticker) yourself. I did this and my install bill was cut in half, as they only charged me for 1 hour's labor.

How difficult is the install? ie do I need to get special torx bits or usual sockets, etc. enough?

Pretty easy, actually. No special tools required. The engine cover just pops off - it has posts on the cylinder head that fit into sockets on the cover - look at the underside of the new cover and you'll see where they are located. Pull up gently at both ends and it will lift off. Then place the new one on the pins and push down until it seats.

The intake silencer requires you to remove the lower half of the box that contains your air filter. To get enough room to do this, you need to loosen the clamp on the right side of the snorkel (your left as you face the engine) and the bolts holding the air filter box to the left fender. Then, unclip the top half and move it and the connected snorkel tube back out of the way, and you can then pull the lower half free.

The new lower half needs to have the 4 clips installed, but this is pretty straightforward - look at how they're installed on the old one and snap them in the same way - a little help from a flat-blade screwdriver will do the trick. Then, just install the new lower half, bolt it in place, pull the top half/snorkel down and snap the clips over it, and tighten the clamp on the snorkel. When that's done, install the metal sticker in the center of the snorkel.

That's it, except for the M Performance decals. The dealer tech will fill out the other underhood sticker when he's done and apply it to the underside of the hood.

For those of you in British Columbia Canada, I ordered one through the local dealer. It is coming from Germany and will be about a two week wait. No one has ordered one yet so I will be the first. Expensive at $1,640 Cdn. but at least I don't have to fight with the dealer. Its probably going to be the beginning of May before I get to play! The parts guy stated that from what he knows from the last generation 3 series that the 335is really felt different than the 335i. And the PPK is advertising those numbers.

For me the car is actually fast enough as is and so this extra is just for a smile factor and should be enough.

Yes before tax and install. Install is probably 1.75 hours. I know it is too much but I like the convenience and won't be able to spend all my money before I die anyway. This is probably one of my last cars - an electric wheelchair is next! But I'll put in an extra big battery pack! LOL

Agamemnon, I'm also in Richmond, just ordered mine from Autowest BMW, what dealer you go to?

I went to the BMW Store in Vancouver. I live in Richmond but bought the car from the Vancouver dealer as I had a contact there so I thought I would stay with them for the install. I can go downtown and poke around while they do the install.

How long did Autowest give you for a delivery time?

I'd take the electronic fake dyno with a grain of salt. There could be something wrong that you may want to look in to as it should be pretty easy to peg it, but I wouldn't expect it to be 100% accurate.

Mine is in metric units and I can peg that 400NM without much effort. Pretty sure the fake dyno doesn't know I have a JB4 either.

Just hourly rates. 160-170/hr. best rates at sterling BMW and long beach BMW. Total install time estimated at 2.5 hrs. 1.75hrs for equip install the rest for programming. (170 rate at crevier).
