Hello, does anybody know why it automatically returns back to its normal position and not staying extended? It remains approximately 1 second extended and than it closes... Fuses checked and no problem...
It's original electronic device - no retrofit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Start by getting fault codes read with ISTA. I think there are also some service operations you can run with ISTA for the tow hitch. Based on how it comes all the way out it might be enough to take it apart and clean & lubricate the internal parts. Broken teeth of the internal gears usually gives different symptoms.

Thank you very much for your replies. Yes, it's OEM. All the time green light blinking. No strange sounds... however, in my idrive is the tow hitch not mentioned.

Interesting. I didn't know that was an option. Check to see if there is something protruding it, or preventing it from locking in place.
