2020 430i Worth it?

I was looking at a 2020 BMW 430i for $30k, 12k miles. Are these cars worth keeping for a few years to come? It’s the last year before the current 4 series.

Yeah the 430i is a good car and is a reliable daily. If you take care of it then it will last. I had one for 2 years and I liked it (switched to a 440i though). Try and get one with at least the M Sport package and preferably with the Executive package. The B46 so far has proven to be a reliable engine and it has some pep. If power is a consideration you may want to look at a 440i but that will be more expensive. Like you mentioned 2020 was the last year of the F32 so if you want a low mileage F32 in about 1-2 years or so it will be slim pickings.

Have any pictures of the car?

I just purchased a 2020 430i xDrive Gran Coupe and intend to keep it for a long time. Searching the internet, it does not seem the B48 engine has many regular problems when well maintained, as opposed to by previous car that had an N54 which had known problems with the water pump, turbo wastegate, and high pressure fuel pump. Fortunately, on that car, I only encountered the water pump issues.

It’s a Gran Coupe, forgot to add that. And I can always attach the dealer link, not sure if it’s allowed on the forums. But yeah, I’ve searched around and haven’t heard any bad things on B46 and B58? Which the 440i has.

Nice take it for a test drive to see if you like how it drives. Getting a pre purchase inspection isn't a bad idea. Have a BMW dealership do it if you don't know of an indie BMW mechanic that you trust.

Here are a couple M Sport cars in the area with low mileage if you're open to spending a little more. It just depends on what you're looking for but the link you posted appears to be a decent car and in good condition based on the pictures.

IMO, in the used car market prices have dropped and will continue to drop. How much of a drop, hard to say. Things to consider, new vehicles are finally making it to market, so that will help with used cars prices. But interest rates are high for loans. Have prices settled, I'd say No.

But if you are in the market for a car and need one now, and find the one you really want, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase.

Only thing to keep in mind for used car prices is that not alot of new cars were sold/leased in 2020 with dealership closures and manufacturing stopages, so I think we're going to end up with a shortage of used vehicles coming off lease this year which may drive prices back up at some point.

But I agree, right now used prices are down. The more you can put down though the better with financing rates going wayyyy up.

That is definitely low miles, but for me that’s a high price for a non-M Sport without leather and without Harman Kardon stereo. And being that you’re in Florida there’s probably going to be an $800 - $1,000 dealer fee on top of the selling price. If it was me I’d rather spend my money on a slightly older M Sport with leather and HK stereo and from a BMW dealer and hopefully CPO. For me I’m partial to a good CPO from a good BMW dealer. If you happen to follow my advice regarding the CPO be sure to insist on getting a copy of the full CPO Inspection Checklist and the work order showing the work that was done to bring the car to CPO standards.

Touche, paying a little extra for M Sport, Harman Kardon stereo and CPO for a little more peace of mind is worth it imo. Ultimately it's up to OP and what's in his price range though. If it's going to be financed anyway what's another $5-7k imo that's another $75-100/month give or take.

Both cars in my previous post check those boxes, the estoril blue one even has the heads up display but the white one doesn't.

Since the economy has gone to sh*t and I'm sure they're not selling as many cars as they did 6-12 months ago you can probably even talk them down $2-3k. Make an offer to them and be prepared to walk away. I pretty much guarantee they'll call you later and accept your offer. When a salesman can see that you are eager to buy a car today, they have the control. Although I'm not sure how impacted the Miami/WPB area is with the economy as there are still people down there with money.

For few months and couple 1000s of km, I am new owner of 2019 430i GC. It's fantastic car that drives amazing. I still prefer its looks versus the new 4. B48 is great and reliable engine.

The price is justifiable if the specific model has options you want; in my case the M sport package. My car actually had pretty much entire set of possible options bar few (xDrive, HUD and CarPlay) and must have cost 75k new. I got it for half that with 29k km thus it was very worthwhile purchase.
