IPad and F31/30

While you can use an iPhone with the car.

Can you connect up use and power an ipad (lightening connector) in the car?

Not for me but for when I have passenger using one.

Not seen anything conclusive on this.

( I know can power via power socket, but can it connect same as iPhone).

Yes, just get a dual USB 12V adapter like a Griffin Powerjolt. Got one in the back go car to power the kids iPads (mounted on Vogels RingO), for those longer journeys.

Does it come with lightening connector and not just USB?

You would have to check on the Griffin site; when I brought mine the lightening connector was not out. But it did come with a 30-pin griffin cable. However it does work with the lightening cable.

I have found that my ipad 4 charges very slowly in car! In fact if i'm using it for anything while plugged in the battery level actually goes down!

Does anyone else have this or is it just me?

Depends on the output of the USB adapters, the current iPad chargers are rated at 10W+, otherwise they will charge super slow.

Yea now reading up about it. My charger says for ipad 1 & 2 so i assumed it would be fine but it turns out ipad 3, 4 & air have much larger batteries that require more amps & watts (2 amp 10 watts)

Looks like this is a very good one to get:

Just an FYI, in the front I've got a Powerjolt Micro Dual, the fitting is virtually flush with the top of the socket so you can close the flap.

That is one of problems with 4 upwards, more power requirements.
