CIC or NBT

Hi all,
I have a 2014 F30 (320i) with the base audio sustem.
No telematics and no amp.
From the VIN lookup the car was manufactured 11/2013.

I am trying to understand what system I have. Is it CIC or NBT.
I found many references claiming that F30 from 2012 to 2015 had NBT (also called CIC High)
But when I check all images of how the UI looks it looks like the CIC syatem.

I also noticed my SW version is not standard so its realy hard to figure it out.

Can anyone help to figure this out?

Be careful, I have a 2013 F30 with Business Nav and everything I looked at suggested I had CIC and I ordered a CIC CarPlay unit and it turns out I had NBT. The difference is a 6 pin connector to the screen that instead of a 4 pin. CIC high is NBT.

In EU, where OP is, they do not use US Model Year designation.

USA model year 2014 (after 7/2013 build) with no Navigation/base units are still CIC.

What was your actual build date?
My build date was 11/2012

It says “S6VBA CCC allocation”

I decided the best way to go is to physically see what is written on the HU.
so it says L7 Entry and ENTRY CB
in layman's terms what does this mean?

The high refers to the size of the unit.

The base unit with CD and no Nav is short.

The CIC HIGH is CIC and it is HIGH containing the CD and the NAV unit

Not according to BimmerTech or BMW but ok, all I know is that if you have what I have-including a “CIC High” HU as it says on my unit, then you have a 6 pin out to the screen that carries power and that’s considered NBT for these aftermarket units and I think that’s what OP was concerned about.

Hello All,
I am having the same issue Identifying my head unit. It is a 2015 BMW 320i xDrive, but I think the dealer my have replaced the head unit. I purchased a Nav. NBT unit and control knob, with the newer 8.8" screen.

Can you make a picture of the current hu screen? And if you got navigation, which one?

The GUI would seem to show you have CIC - the red outline selection box is CIC

You do not have NBT. You have ENTRYNAV Head Unit, used for cars with 606 Business Nav not 609 Pro Nav.

Thanx,
So I checked and have a 6pin display cable.
I also have an aftermarket reverse camera and I checked the model of the unit and it claims its an adaptor for NBT.

So I want to get a CarPlay adaptor and I don't want to end up getting the wrong one.
If for the CarPlay the important part is the display connector then maybe its NBT?
