Clean Diesel!
So this week I did the metal to rubber giubo swap/output flange inspection/locktite job. The good news is our 65k mile '14 wagon had very little wear on the splines. In order to access the driveshaft you have to get the exhaust pipe out of the way. There is a slip connection near the front where the SCR metering unit enters through a Y connection. After I was done with the job it dawned on me that for a 5 year old, 65k mile car the pipe, both outside and inside was amazingly pristine. The joint came apart easily and even inside the pipe looked nearly new, no soot deposits of any kind. Clean diesel.

I can confirm the same.
These are really clean. In fact the North American 328d has SULEV level emissions. Yet nicer than a Prius. It only didn't get the SULEV rating because it would require special extended warranties.
