DTUK box settings - 335d

Just fitted a DTUK tuning box to my F31 335d

Looking to see what settings you guys are running.

Iíve currently got it on 2+2 and no EML yet.

The car definitely feels quicker - especially torque wise with a much stronger pull.

Any recommendations/advice on settings would be great.

Cheers

Seems like it may have changed since I used one but When I had one on the 313ps 35d I ran P2 (I think that's Dynamic) +3 with no errors. I ran it initially on P2 +2 until my warranty was out in case +3 caused errors. P2 seemed to be the best option for what I wanted... Once out of warranty I ran it on +3 for about 6 months/15k miles until I changed my car. I didn't drive it flat out for any sustained length of time (which I understand is when you might encounter issues), though I think you could only really do that on a track...

Why do they have settings that produce errors and cause issues? I have to say I was tempted to get one now my car is out of warranty but if they can't get another 40-50hp out of a 320hp 3l engine without issues I don't think I'll bother.

Go for a proper remap from a reputable company.

Dtuk donít actually know what their own maps do! Spoke to them several times on the phone and all they said was try different combinations to see what works for your car. Too much guess work for my liking.

Plenty of horror stories on briskoda of engines blowing from these dtuk boxes.

I used to have one of their boxes on my old 350d Merc, it was a fair while ago when you had to open the box & move the jumper pins around for various settings !!... but although that was a pain once set it worked very well.

Think the maps are set to suit different owners requirements, whether you want power lower in the rev range of higher up etc. I settled on a map that really just gave the car more of what it already had, so with the foot down it was relentless power until you lifted.

Fair point - I do plan on going down the remap route at some point. This was more of an exploration into what can be done. For £150 on eBay Iím happy for now but will likely go to emaps later.

I too pinged their support and they couldnít give me more advice other than read the FAQs and experiment.

I guess, as someone has also commented - they are just general maps set up to suit different drivers I.e. where you want the power coming in across the Rev range etc.

I feel comfortable with these boxes as their supplier is DTE chiptuning and they are reputable. I wouldnít be surprised if DTE just make it all and they just sell them here and hence why they donít know what the maps do. So they are effectively just a distributor...

I imagine this is because they are generic maps so if you push too hard you get an error. Means they probably spend less on having to produce finely tuned maps for each vehicle.

I havenít seen any errors yet...
