I don't have any good info for you, but could you be more specific? Interested to learn and I'm in the suburbs...

are you talking about opening up the left muffler and weldi g a straight pipe? any muffler shop should be able to do this, nothing performance or BMW specific about it really.

their are a few youtube videos with clips, maybe go into the shop? they might think your doing something that's not supposed to be done (legally/emissions) so will say no over the phone.

If you search eBay for '3" exhaust valve' you will see all the options. They come with the remote. I think if you buy one and bring it to a muffler shop they should weld it on. Not sure how the electronic component is installed though

I think what you are talking about is an electric cutoff, which will work just the same. but I think OP wants to use the OEM exhaust valve. I myself thought about doing this, still am, and I would rather go into comfort mode to go quiet rather than push a button on a keyfob or have to mount a toggle switch or button somewhere. plus, depending on the state you live in, if caught with a cutoff your SOL, where as the muffler mod is pretty much hidden.

probably easier and better if a pipe was just welded in its place. just cut out that part of the exhaust.

the point here is sport mode=loud and comfort mode=queit.. especially with the new exhaust law in California, which is where I am, being able to make the exhaust silent at the touch of a button would be great.

lol, that was google. just search "f30 335i muffler mod" and click the images tab. that's where I got that one from. you're going to see a few with the MPE mixed in too though. there is also a youtube video by **********s of them doing it.

edit: wierd how it sensored out a shop name, anyone know why? well, the name starts with the word mod and ends with the word bargains..
