what is the best leather conditioner for Merino Leather in BMW's?

I have a 2016 435i convertible with the "individual" package which included Merino leather interior. What is the best cleaner and conditioner/softener to use?
Thanks!

I was actually discussing this with a leather furniture dealer. He said that leather seating normally doesn't require conditioning because it will usually have protection that prevents conditioners from actually reaching the leather.

I've used Rejuvenator Oil and Pristine Clean from Leatherique. Not sure about the comment above, but it makes some sense.

Still...my leather used to love getting coated and then sitting in the sun to cook the oil in and lift the dirt up.

I was advised not to use leather cleaner or saddle soap on the newer BMW (and other) leathers, as they're not tanned the same way as they used to be and the colour is just painted on with a lacquer as the final coat.

So all these cremes/oils/pastes do is embed the dirt more thoroughly into the lacquer.

The recommendation I got (from an ex-Connolly guy in NW England) was to use a mild upholstery detergent and some spongeing.

BTW, 'newer' as in post 1994 era.

This is what he did for my e34 M5 leather...

This is correct, with the exception of very high end furniture and leather in a handful of very expensive luxury cars, all leather is 'coated'.
However, one can certainly clean the seats with products designed for that purpose- a regular wipe down with damp cloth is very effective also.

Look up Leather Masters products on Amazon- quality leather cleaning and protection products made in Italy, quite good.

I have the opal white merino, I use Autoglym leather cleaner, its very mild, ph neutral and does a great job!

I think the bigger concern is people getting in and out with a thick leather belts and jeans, rivets and zippers rubbing on the plush leather.

At the end of the day as the car ages, so will the leather, just keep it clean and it should age gracefully
