Yeah. It looks like the US Eibach site is only showing me the mild drop 06-22 springs vs the more moderate 05-22 kit.

In some way, I'm a bit nervous dropping the car by 35mm in the front as my front splitter is already scraping on some driveways unless I approach very slowly at an angle with my current stock Xdrive ride height.

The funniest part is that the US Eibach site specially notes that the 06-22 springs were "tested with stock shocks" indicating that they believe the car will be properly dampened with the OEM LCI shock absorbers. I wonder if the LCI shocks can actually handle the increase rates of the Eibach springs as BMW seem to say that they made the later shocks dampen better after all the complaints of floatiness while cornering.

I have just both a second hand BMW 320xi Touring Luxury. I used to drive sporty but now with two kids an wife I don't do that but I like to feel the car. That "new" car feels floaty and bouncy in highways. In road mountains, it's ok (for my needs and circumstances) so I am thinking to install a B12 kit or B8+Eiback's springs.

BUT the BMW dealer here in Barcelona has said to me that I can change the springs but I shouldn't change the shocks because of that causes a lot of electronic problems.

Any news about that?

Its the cheapest option, apart from springs on it own.

Its never recommended to use stock springs with aftermarket struts and vice versa. Assuming lowering of the vehicle is the intention.

The online catalogue only lists 05-22 for the 335xd's and for example for 330xd's both the 06-22 and 05-22 are listed, even tho those 2 cars are identical apart from twin turbos.

Im not sure if this is just a glitch in the website or whoever wrote it up, but I also decided to go with 05-22.

What confirmed it to me was the ACS spring part numbers.
ACS always looked a bit a lower and nicer, and thats cause they use 05-22 kit since their revision.
According to ACS all F30 3.0 Xdrives share the same springs.

Thank you again for all the information you posted in this thread! After rereading every single post and thread, I pulled the trigger on the E90-20-031-05-22 B12 kit and bought from a Polish seller on eBay as nobody in the USA seems to have any B8 shocks in stock.

Like practically every F30 owner who cares and knows how a proper sport sedan is supposed to handle, I just can't get over the floatiness of the suspension despite the LCI updates. I want to my car to inspire confidence. I don't have the adjustable dampers on my current 340i xDrive base suspension. Next mod will have to be non RFT tires to offset the firmer suspension and to get rid of the harshness of the OEM tires. And finally maybe H&R sway bars.

I will post pics once I receive and install the kit. I don't know how hard it is to install with hand tools and floor jacks. So I might pay a local indy shop to do it for me instead. Either way, I'm super excited. Good luck to all those F30 owners who are also following this upgrade path!

The closer the car is to the road, the better it handles. So most suspension improvements involve lowering the vehicle to some degree.

Threads like this really helps fellow enthusiasts figure out which option they like and what outcomes to expect. It took me almost 2 years of research and look through many threads to finally settle on what sort of suspension upgrade would work for me.

And yes, I definitely need to pick up a few tools on top of my tried and true Craftsman Metric and SAE socket set and torque wrench.
