Anyone use the 150K SULEV warranty?

This is probably more of general 3 series question, but I was curious if anyone had an issue that the SULEV warranty covered?

My 2016 328 has had the yellow engine light come on at times this week and it's throwing codes 123431 and 123401 for the electric wastegate actuator. There doesn't seem to be any issues driving the car and I can even drive it in Sport mode. It looks like the warranty may cover this as I have car registered in CT (CARB state).

In case anyone is curious the SULEV warranty does cover the problem...at least in CT. The car has driven fine, but the wastegate actuator needs to be replaced. Covered under warranty, but it's $179 to confirm the problem. I'm not cheap, but that seems high for probably < 15 minutes work. Still the part probably would have cost me more than that. A bit disappointed since I baby this car, but otherwise no issues. I was wondering if someone would say something about the catch can I added, but it wasn't mentioned.

So... the issue was covered under warranty but you still had to come out of pocket?

When I had my thermostat replaced under extended warranty (N20 @ 60k miles), they didnt charge me anything.

Seems that you would only be charged if they did the diagnosis and found out the problem was not a warranty related problem.

Yeah I understand they should be paid for their time, but with warranty that pay comes from BMW. Apparently they have also gotten BMW to cover the timing chain and some other related "repairs". I do live in CT and that generally does mean paying more for everything.

I plan on contacting BMW directly and seeing what they have to say, but for now I need the car back.

Well they have agreed to waive the "evaluation fee". I was going to have them replace the battery since it's the original (6 years old), but once I heard the cost of that I decided to wait. I thought knew BMW's were expensive, but I knew nothing.
