2017 330i GT 64k miles. Randomly felt a loss of power under acceleration. Like turbo lag but very severe. I was on my street when this happened and drove home. The next day I drove the car and had zero issues for about 3 miles when an electronic noise could be heard from the engine bay. Like a low hum. It then had the same power loss and I began to hear a loud rattle from what seems to be under the engine compartment (like a bunch of coins being tossed in a dryer). The vehicle sounds and acts normal under idle in park. Again, no errors or malfunctions being displayed. Any help or ideas are appreciated.

No errors displayed? You mean on the dash? If so you need to pull codes with a reader.

Yeah, I figured as much. It’s gonna go get a scan. Was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same symptoms or ideas as to what it could be. Thanks.

Owning your own scanner, even if it's an app, is a necessity. A dealer will charge you what it would cost you to buy a very nice scan and repair tool, like a Foxwell.

Billfitz Does the bimmer-tool lite that you use, allow to get one level "deeper" to identify an actual component in the group that causes code? Code similar to P0441, for example. Thanks.

It does, and it clears codes as well. It even picks up some codes that my Foxwell doesn't.
