Find me a car!

Right I need another car to see me through the next year.

Car wise no real needs, 4/5 seats.

Max price 6k. Ideally diesel and low milage, within 20 miles of Manchester.

Seen this:

The challenge is out, i'm going to look at that one tomorrow.

The MOT history is almost too good to be true.

Buy something that you can sell again easily when the times comes. High mileage stuff can be very hard to move on.

That is why I?m thinking that Merc might be a good option. It will have only done 30,000 by the time I have finished with it

Try the Merc forums, but for some reason CLKs don't seem to resell that well, beautiful car but seems to have a very limited market.

Then you get into whether it's from MBs rusting period, which gearbox it has, blah blah blah. In my experience MB servicing also made everything else look good value...but it's doubtful you will keep it long enough to need a service

Yes that Merc is a decent option as miles are low so it has a bit of a unique factor. Only issue is perhaps it's age as people may not want to buy so old a car.

What I find always sells well is the Polo, Fiesta type of car as everyone wants one even for kids or second car. Won't be a great daily driver for ever if you are doing a bit of driving as they generally aren't the most powerful.

As others say above, Polo and Golf are easy to move on, same can be said for s-line Audi A3s, m-sport e46s, Saab and Volvo estates seems to resell easily as well regardless of mileage

Any thoughts on this? Anything to look out for on older BMWs??

10 years old, 5 owners.

The E9x in MSport trim had horribly hard suspension. The gearbox is a shed compared to the current ZF 8 speed unit too.

Yeah I noticed the owners... did put me off a bit. I guess a driver would answer the other comments.
