BMW themselves stated that the MPPSK doesn't effect emissions. Check the first page of this thread for the BMW bulletin. I'd ask another dealership or show the dealership this information. If it comes to it, see if an independent can do it. It requires programming so the shop would need that capability.

If independent shops aren't allowed to do the programming, you could have a shop install the hardware then flash MHD which has an MPPSK map. I've never tried MHD so I'd confirm that it's truly a BMW OEM map and not just an imitation of the settings.

I remember reading somewhere that newer year models had a particulate filter this is why mppsk could not be installed on them (I mean it could but then emissions would be a problem). I would contact BMW corporate and verify.

Hmm I see, if that's the case the European versions must have gotten the particulate filter on 2019+ but the North American versions didn't. Thankfully we don't have crazy emissions laws lol. I have a NA 2019 F32 with the MPPSK.

Everyone enjoying the boost weather so far? My mornings and late evenings have been in the low 60s, high 50s. Windows down and sport mode has been amazing! Hopefully the high 80s / low 90s weather is gone for good until next summer. But you never know here in Cincinnati.

It is still between 70-80 degrees here in Chicago. I am really looking forward to cooler temperatures (but definitely not looking forward to below 20 ), although I can still manage to keep the windows/sunroof open without AC most of the time.

This was my first summer with the MPPSK, and the soundtrack was deeper when it was cold. ZF whine after pushing the car hard also more prominent when it was hot when switching back to comfort (above 2.5k rpm). It is funny how much soundtrack changes depending on the temperatures. Regardless, it sounds very refined and great!

In Florida it's still been in the 90's so still not cool enough for ideal conditions. Putting it in Sport+ helps a lot and the burbles are much more prominent in the heat.

The whining sound while in comfort is mostly from ASD, so you can turn down the volume with Bimmercode or turn it off completely if you'd like. I've never tried changing the engine type/tune to see if other emulated engines may sound better.

I already have ASD disabled. I wasn't hearing it much during winter (and spring that probably lasted 2 weeks). I've realized it about a month ago after driving the car very hard for about an hour. Honestly I didn't drive the car much in comfort during winter so even if it was there, I didn't hear it.

Good morning All,

Was wondering..has anyone paired the AA catted downpipe to their MPPSK exhaust? If so, how does it sound. Turbo spool more pronounced? Worth the $1500 price tag?

Thanks,
Jeff

For those that have the MPPSK and BM3.....is it worth the price to do stage 1 with BM3? Not sure if I want to go stage 2 with a catted downpipe...I love the MPPSK sound too much and not sure if I want to change it. Would love the extra power and tq.

Thanks!

I went straight to stage 1 BM3 two days after I picked up my 340i, I got used to my 420AWHP/438AWTQ N55 power and the MPPSK power still wasn't enough for me, stage 1 is alot better. I noticed no change in sound (shouldn't affect the exhaust sound unless you add more burbles)

I'm currently doing some research on catted downpipes before I buy one and go to stage 2. So far CG precision is my choice.

Thanks for the input! Did you feel a power increase from MPPSK to going Stage 1? Just want to make sure its worth it.

Thanks!

Thanks for that info! I wonder what the HP / TQ difference is when MPPSK is installed and what it is when Stage 1 is stacked ontop.

The mppsk has a defined hp and TQ addition. On mine they went from 320 to 355 hp and 330 to 369 TQ. It is a mild stage one tune. Not sure how the other tunes work as far as increases in hp and TQ. I am curious too.

There is no “stacking”! You don’t stack Windows 11 on top of Windows 10!

A stage 1 tune will replace the MPPSK tune.

And what do you mean with your first question? MPPSK is strictly defined - 360 PS and 500 Nm.

Please read the product brochure.

Correct it will replace the MPPSK tune.

The US product page states 355 hp:

Indeed, if you install a stage 1 or whatever aftermarket tune, your MPPSK will become your stock tune so when you flash back to stock you will go back to OEM MPPSK rather than just plain ol OEM pre-MPPSK.

I’d ditch it. It’s cost more than what you get out of it. Just my opinion.

Your paying for a muffler that’s empty.
It’s like doing a muffler delete. Which can be done at a exhaust show $150.

BS. You are free to buy or not buy what you want. But please don’t post if you have no idea or experience.

I do have experience. You can spend thousands of dollars for bmw branded exhaust. Or you can spend not even half of the list price. There’s lots of videos on YouTube of owners cutting open bmw performance mufflers to find nothing inside but the exhaust straight pipe through.
You just have to do your research

Dude, 70 pages of ultra-satisfied MPPSK owners! Plus XX other threads dedicated to MPPSK satisfaction.

What are you even talking about - the MPPSK exhaust is a legal and official straight pipe as soon as the valves are open!! 😄 the definition of a valved exhaust. And that’s not an MPPSK muffler in your photo! Do your homework, you do not need to post if you have no idea or experience… just a tip.
