I was able to out run a 2003 ford svt lightening which has forged internals and a 5.4 liter v8 supercharged. It makes more horsepower and torque per ford but BMW underrates their engines so the power is probably closer than it seems and the truck weighs over a thousand pounds more. I could hear the supercharger whine but he couldn't catch me and gave up. (3.0 liter twin power turbo. Stock). For your n20 I would start with a jb4 tune, you can do pretty well without having to go with forged internals, you might as well just get an m3 at that point.

The cost of forging the engine+FBO+Pure stage 2+ actually getting the tune dialed in will cost more than actually getting a 35i/40i or a M3/M4. The only reason you would forge the engine is if you know how to do it yourself (taking the block apart etc) or someone will do it for you for cheap or you're going to go time attack at the track and want to make a N20 racecar. If not, you're looking at probably between 5-7k for parts and labour+another 5-6k for FBO and turbo. All in all, you're probably going to be putting at least between 12-15k by the time you're done, and still will probably get walked by a FBO PS2 35i/FBO 40i. Really not worth it IMO.
