Where to get MPPK installed?

Does anyone know where is a good spot to get the MPPk installed in the Sacramento area? Ive tried calling Roseville but they couldn't find a version for my car. I called Arden and they had no idea what I was talking about...I have a 2013 335i RWD built in 09/12 so I need the labor intensive install apparently...and if I do get it installed at a dealer would they care that I have an AFE cold air intake installed? I just mainly want that tune and will probably just sell the intake.

How about Elk Grove?
Wow i was going to get one for myself, if Sacramento area dealers don't have idea how to do it i might have to rethink that or go someplace else to install it.

There is actually a way you can do it yourself but...... you need
1. Buy MPPK kit from BMW
2.ENET cable and Soft
3. plus you need to ask one of the members of other forum to convert license key you bought to a bin file.
4. You need to add MPPK coding option to the car an add file generated in step 3.

I will try to post info for self install but don't know if i can find it again.

Update:
OK i didn't see the part about being 9/12 production, in this case you might need new ECU and i don't know if you will be able to get it as part of MPPK by yourself.

Another thing to consider: if you outside of the factory warranty why not just get DINAN Sport tuner ? for about $300 you will get about same results as MPPK

Yeah if you are going to use your own intake and you're out of warranty, why not just get the Dinan? Or any other tuner out there? The MPKK's big advantage is retention of warranty. I don't think the aftermarket tunes are any less safe and they definitely have more potential.

Yea I was thinking about JB4 vs MPPK and read some reviews about them but at the end of the day and 10+ years down the road I trust the reliability of the BMW tune over anything else. When I called Elk grove they gave me a quoat of $1600parts & $1200 labor... I just bought the MPPK off getbmwparts.com and comfirmed with the SA that they will install it there as long as its a brand new authentic BMW part and will give you a loaner car during the install. Am just gonna get it done at the dealer so I dont run the risk of messing up my cars computer just one less thing to think about and it gets done right.

$1200 labor is unreasonable. Most people were able to get it done for $300 (the once needing ecu swap) or less if it was simple coding and people installed air box and engine cover themselves.
In any case let us know how it went !

JB4 gives way more power then MPPK and some people had transmission slip. I understand your worries about reliability in the long term, but something like Dinan Sport Tuner gives 30HP, 40lb/ft gain which just a bit higher than what you will get from MPPK ( for your year model 20hp and 32lb/ft) so should not be so bad on the drive-train.
MPPK does give you : Burble and Faster Shifting AT

There's nothing wrong with wanting the security of the MPPK. But I agree you should shop around a little more. $1200 sounds a bit steep. Maybe you should consider some places in the bay area?

Thanks for the advice upsidedownfunnel I called some places and found Valley BMW in Modesto and got quoted 2hrs of labor @$155/hr. They are open Saturdays and are actually competent and have done MPPK installs before. I got my appointment on the 16th of September can't wait!
