Not sure if this was discussed in the thread. After installing the head unit I am unable to turn off the daytime running lights/angel eyes in the OEM interface. I think it does uncheck but the lights stay on...

Without really believing it too much : while looking with you for an internet solution, I read that by modifying the type of display NO SIGNAL could disappear, what did you choose in the MENU FACTORY for your vehicle ?
I just read also that the blue connection (gps) badly inserted behind the screen could be the cause, to check also |

Bluetooth Audio Only
I still want to connect the the OEM bluetooth for phone calls because the microphone is much better but I'd like to connect to the Android bluetooth so that I can stream some audio from my phone.
I've tried going into my phone's bluetooth settings for the Android HU connection and unselect Calls so that only Audio is selected but each time I do this the bluetooth connection is disconnected. The only way to keep the bluetooth connection on is to have the Calls setting selected. Any ideas? |

At the moment started my project to adjust the factory xml file, removing unnecessary parameters ;-)
Someone any idea what these parameters wthin the xml factory file really do? I can't figure out what the options 1/2/3/ do? <!-- AUX ??????: 1:??? 2:?? 3: ??--> <CarAux_auto_method>2</CarAux_auto_method> <!-- ??AUX????: 0:???? 1:???? --> |

the blue cable behind the unit, to the back of the screen is the GPS cable, but I don't know if it is powered at 12 volts.
It is indeed possible that the coding of the resolution via bimmercode (for example) is the solution, but your seller must be able to advise you, or even, exchange your unit? |

code what where and how? I'm used to coding and I haven't seen anything to change the display resolution (in BimmerCode at least). And I don't understand why you have to do a resolution coding to resolve the fact that a GPS signal does not pass |

Can anyone recommend a front dvr camera for the unit?
I Guess USB would be the easiest solution because i wouldnt have to mess with the other cables? I saw a couple on amazon but i dont know which would be "good" |

I can tell you tomorrow where you have to code but to be honest I don´t think that it will help with your gps issue, you will just have full screnn and the native resolution for the screen instead of the 6.5 resolution and the fuel info on the right side

Here´s what I had to code in my F20 2017 with bimmercode:
1. HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = (here you choose size and resolution) 2. HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display (means broad display) if you have CIC coding is obviously not possible |

Hello and thank you guys for your explanations,
It is not me who meets the concern for resolution but @b777rky who has "no signal" when using a GPS app in his unit. Anyway, so to code with BimmerCode thanks to the explanation of @ande86 you have to do : - Headunit - Expert mode - 3000 HMI - DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = (here you choose size and resolution) Picture 1 BimmerCode - Choose "code" and wait the unit reboot And you go back to : - Headunit - Expert mode - 3001 EXBOX - DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display (means broad display) Picture 2 BimmerCode - Choose "code" and wait the unit reboot So see if this solves the problem described "no signal" (personally I do not believe it) PICTURE 1 PICTURE 2 |

Anyway, in my case I could not do "DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION" as it didn't show up, just the "DISPLAY_VARIANTE". Then on the configuration from the Android HU I had changed the display to "6.5 Full Display". |
